10/05 Meows AMPS 106, +2 70, +3 67, +4 94, PMPS 104

This is his first day on the new 0.1u dose. I can see the spike from his dry food given at +2, the spike seems to happen between +3/4 with the almost 30pt spike. I will try to find a replacement dry food that doesn't upset his stomach but is low carb. He just loves a tiny bit of dry food every day, so I don't want to take that away from him. I only did a drop dose last night because I was too exhausted from the wedding to give him the 0.1u to monitor. I will monitor him tonight though at +3 and +4 as that's his nadir generally.

You could try moving the dry food to +1. See if that helps reduce the drop at onset and still gives you more duration.
With that 67 today he has earned another reduction. You can go down to a drop tomorrow. Congrats! :)

Okay I'll try that, I'll give him his dry food right now then (tho it's almost +2), but tomorrow I'll give it at +1. He will be very excited to have it early, he's always so amped when I put it down, he paws at my legs as I weigh it for him.
Oh wow! Okay I will go to a drop tomorrow morning! When he is getting a drop, is there glucose number (and above) I would be looking for that would tell me he needs the dose increased again? As well, what glucose numbers would I be looking for that would tell me to try a OTJ trial? ◡̈

Poor baby! If only vets would tell us from the very beginning that cats should be fed a low carb canned or raw diet.

There isn't a single number. Just watch to see if his numbers are trending higher.

If he stays in normal numbers (50-100) for a week on the drop dose, he would be ready for an OTJ trial. See this sticky:
Reminder: *earning* reductions and starting OTJ trials

Did I tell you to give him a snack at +8 or +9 in both cycles?

So true, it took years for him to like wet food (and he currently likes 2), but we try a new one every week to see. He used to be a dry food cat only a few years ago before I knew better. And he gets freeze dried treats now at shot time instead of high carb ones, so he's definitely come a long way ◡̈

You didn't, but he does get a snack around then. We feed him every few hours, so +1 (now), +4/5 and +8/9, and then shot time so +12 ◡̈ and that's both day and night. Unless he's asking for more food and then he gets another low carb wet food meal between +4/5 and +8/9.
