Before I panic anyone, Tiggy is fine.

However my little bunny Pikachu passed away, aged 12, on Monday. She had declined a lot suddenly over a week, lost the use entirely of one leg as well as a ton of weight (she was suddenly all skin and bones - so painful to look at), and with all her other issues, we knew it was time. It was the first time I have had to help a pet over the rainbow bridge and it was so so hard. I miss her terribly. I have had rabbits for 13 years and now the bunny zone is so quiet and dark and I feel something is missing.. something is....  Its even sadder as I realize my last post was on her birthday and she was doing so well then...

But Tiggy is doing well. I think his leg decline has a slowed a bit but its hard to tell because I have recently gotten very tight control on his BG and it seems to help. He has more energy and does more normal things.. although his legs go from under him at times and he is wobbly, his high energy carries him on! We have just started him on n-acetylcysteine which is a really high potency anti-oxidant that the vet specialist say is worth a try although he doesn't have confidence in it. But we have to try everything. This condition is so rare, nobody really knows!

(((Wendy))), so sorry to hear about Pikachu. She lived a fantastic and long life. :YMHUG: I can imagine the house sounds empty without a bunny.

Tiggy is looking really good - he's doing great on Levemir, hardly any pink! Good to hear his legs are doing fairly well.

((((Wendy)))) I am so sorry about Pikachu.  She did have a wonderful life with you. I hope that's a comfort. I'm glad Tiggy is holding steady. :-D :-D

I'm so sorry about Pikachu. It's never easy to let one of our babies go. You did a loving thing. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I'm glad Tiggy is doing pretty well.

i'm so sorry about Pikachu - i've had 5 rabbits, and know they are little furry people, just like cats. I saw your birthday update on Pikachu.

we had one black girl "Thunderbuns" hahahaha who fell in love with one of our guinea pigs, Rocky. She and Rocky lived in a rubbermaid box on our fireplace hearth. It was open, but I don't think she ever knew she could get off the fireplace. She was just content to live there and to wash Rocky's ears. over and over again. they were so danged cute together - this little very odd couple. ;-)

glad to hear that Tiggy's doing well. I have just read some amazing things about NAC in people for fighting viruses - didn't know that it could be given to cats. hope it helps him. go tiggy! cat_pet_icon

I'n so sorry to hear about Pikachu, they are all our little furbabies.

The update on Tiggy is great, paws crossed for things to keep going so well.

((((Wendy)))). I'm so very sorry you had to let your sweet Pikachu go. I know how sweet bunnies can be and I'm sure you miss her very much.

Glad to hear Tiggy is a bit better.

(((((Wendy))))) I'm so sorry for your loss of Pikachu. rb_icon
They all take a piece of our hearts. I've had lots of rabbits as pets. Our last one, Thumper, was a big New Zealand White who also lived for 12 years and became very close to. I know how you feel. :( I eventually bought a rabbit statue and put it in the garden. I hope Pikachu will come to visit you soon and let you know she is okay.

So sorry, Wendy, about Pikachu. What a great, long life. But it's never enough for us. I pet sat for a friend's buns over the course of a couple of years. Grew quite smitten with the girl, so sweet. The boy? A bit of a bully, but quit endearing in his own way.

Sending light for Tiggy that the new treatment helps. Glad to hear he's doing so well.

Wendy, Wendy, - I am very sorry you had to let your sweet Bunny to pass the rainbow bridge, she lived a beautiful, well cared long life, but I know doesn’t matter how long is; never long enough.
I had two bunny –Muszi & Zorro - we lost Muszi at age 7 - suddenly in heart attach & Zorro when he was 8 years old, some neurological virus infection what returned three time and at the last he became paralyzed on his back legs. (We had to fix Muszi when he was around a year old because he wanted to become romantically involved with my kitty - Tiger, chasing her all around the house. ) Both of my bunnies used the litter box so they were in their cage just over night and feeding time.
That is so nice to hear that you were able to regulate Tiggy and with this helping his back leg situation. I didn’t hear about NAC, but I will check it out and hope –this product will help to keep up Tiggy’s present condition or least slow it down the progress.

Think about you , Susanna

I'm so sorry to hear about Pikachu. I had two rabbits who were the most lovable little creatures ever. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to them.

Rest in peace, little Pikachu.

Fly free, dear Picachu! I know that Chefs Stu and Mannie have a delicious salad waiting for you at the Two Chefs' Bridge Kitchen tonight.

Wendy, we are very sorry that it was Picachu's time. She had a wonderful life with you.

Keep up the good work, Tiggy!
