I gave Cleo a drop of insulin am and pm today. Don't think it really made a difference, but it made me feel better. I feel like a neglectful mom. I have her medicine (new pen of insulin), but am not giving it to her yet. She has developed pudding poo from the AB, but still has her appy. She is still acting normal, but I notice her blood is getting "thicker." Just wish it was over and she was home, safe and sound. :-D

BJ - I wish I had thought of the N insulin ohmygod_smile ! I am actually worried that they may tell me her numbers are too high to do the dental!?! (DH put that in my head)

Thank you all for the vines and positive thoughts - it really helps so much!

Jane

((((Jane)))) Sending mega good dental vines your way. My little acrocat started her dental day at 452.

Some antibiotics can kill stomach flora and cause poodin' poo. Do you have FortiFlora around?

Hi Wendy,

Yes, I have been putting the FF on every feed since starting the AB. She does not get any AB in the morning, they will give her a AB injection after the dental (If she needs it).

Well, now I am hopeful they will not cancel Cleo's dental!! Thanks :-D I know she will be really high there due to stress.

Thanks for the vines!!

I realize ECID, but when my Donny was OTJ and his numbers crept into the blue/yellow zone, he needed a dental badly. His BGs were hitting 200s before the dental, and were back his normal high greens/low blues after about a week. I did not start up insulin again, but definitely would have if I had not started to see an improvement.

Even though he was OTJ, they took lots of BG readings before/during/after dental surgery, which was extensive. Thankfully I left my own BG meter and strips there or it would have cost $$$ for all those tests.

Sending lots and lots of safe and healthy dental vines for Cleo! (And big hugs to you, Jane!) You're doing a great job for her and she'll be so happy to have clean teefers! :-D

Hi Jane - lots of vines for Cleo! I hope all goes well... paws crossed for a good dental.

Agreed with the rest: the AB's probably caused the poo issue - that always happened with Mannie when he was on them too. We used greek yogurt to settle things out a it. it helped.

Hi Jane - sending prayers for a safe dental, lower BG and solid poo! It will be over before you know it!!
