Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the dosing correct again this a.m. Got a fat 4.50u instead. I'm not lucky with syringes, and probably will never get these right, either. Had a very large bubble in it, and was trying to get it out. No luck. I expect a bit of high #'s today. I really hate wasting expensive insulin.

Sorry for the trouble with the syringes, Angela. But Blackie's SS sure is looking pretty! Beautiful numbers last night, and a nice AMPS this morning!

Re: 10/02 Blackie AMPS 237

What brand of syringes are you using? Some are worse than others when it comes to bubbles. I've had very good luck with Hocks' house brand, GNP, syringes.

Re: 10/02 Blackie AMPS 237

Sorry to read about the syringe problem - one I can relate too. This latest cartridge of mine is giving me such issues. Bubbles in the cartridge, bubbles in the syringe - frustration rules! I too hate wasting insulin, which lately has been to norm, just trying to get rid of bubbles. Aiyee!

I hope you guys have a great day! And good numbers for Blackie!

Hate the bubbles too. Can totally relate to getting them often.

Blackie is looking good....bubbles and all.

Have a great day.

Re: 10/02 Blackie AMPS 237

I forget the brand name, but I like them because they don't stick when I draw, not like another brand that sticks. I'll figure these things out if it's the last thing I do.

Eventually, I'll be using a cartridge. I KNOW that bubbles in any Lantus container isn't good, however, what if you can't avoid it, especially in a cartridge?

sienne says she likes the GNP syringes, while I find that they have more bubbles than Relion. I do like that they don't stick. To each his/her own! I haven't tried any other brands but I've heard that some are worse.

If there is a bubble in a cartridge, sometimes you can flick it so it goes to the end out of the way. Sometimes you can also suck it out with a syringe.

These are Good Neighbor Pharmacy (GNP), so am guessing that these are the same ones that Sienne is using, too. I DO like them, though. Am using them. I find that getting rid of the bubbles in the syringe, despite having to waste a drop or 2 of insulin, is much easier than with the syringes that I've been using in the past.

I'll figure these out. LOL Eventually. :)
