I'm just not sure what to do. And I'm tired. Last night I didn't get much sleep and was sure I was going to take today off, and take J.D. to the vet as he was walking wobbily and pacing and wandering and stopping often and laying next to his bed rather than in it. I gave him 0.02 of Bupe at +2 and then another 0.02 of Bupe at +4. He was prescribed 0.10
At +4, I fed him MC FF Medleys just to see him eat with energy, rather than act lethargic.
Last night he seemed fine when I got home at PMPS, so I am wondering if it's the Bupe that is causing him to act funny. Right now the Bupe has worn off and he ate his regular 2 Breffises, is laying on the deck and is acting more normal, like responding to me and looking at me when I approach.

I'm going to go get dressed and take him for a walk and see how he does.

And, he has had solid poos (smallish quantity for him but formed and good consistancy) all over the house, and peeing mostly, but not always near the litter box.

I am so sending tons of healing vines for J.D. and positive thoughts, too. Am also praying that he makes a full and speedy recovery from whatever may be ailing him. :YMHUG: Hang in there, Dyana. Will you be taking him to the vet to have him checked out just in case today...?

Sending tons of healing and feel better vines for J.D. this morning. I only had one experience with bupe with Zeus, but it wasn't a good experience for him. I hope he feels better soon.

He ate 3 Breffises, walked normally on his walk. I got a pee sample in a baby food jar. I'm going to drop that off at the vet, and pray he is okay today, because I think he is feeling better now. And I'm going to drag myself to work and ask my boss if I can run home midday to check on him.

That means I have to leave now.

He did two pees in the litter box this morning, and I got two samples, so I will take the one I just got.

Had you given any thought to getting a consultation? If I'm remembering correctly, you really liked the practice where J.D. had his dental. If they are a bigger, multi-specialty practice, maybe having the vets there look him over with a fresh set of eyes would be helpful.

I can't get into J.D.'s profile. (Anything on the old board isn't accessible.) If he's an older kitty, it's possible that he's not clearing some drugs out of his system all that quickly. The wobbling may be due to the bupe. It's a narcotic and cats wobble when they're woozy.

Healing vines coming your way. Poor guy. Tarragon has that reaction to bupe but you definitely need to get JD checked out to see what is going on. ((((Dyana))))

Hi guys .. I haven't been around in a while .. I'm sorry to hear that J.D. has not been feeling well .. I hope that whatever was making him wobbly is out of his system and that he only continues to feel better ...

Hey Dyana - I'm so sorry JD isn't feeling good. Nothing worse than worrying about your furbaby and not knowing what is wrong. I'm sending prayers! Hang in there!

Thank God, and thanks to you for all your vines :YMHUG:

When I came home at +7 J.D. and Ginger were laying in their doggy bed all snuggled up together, and Ginger got up and J.D. didn't. I put him on his feet, and he walked around and peed (close to the pee pads around the litter boxes) and I got a Ketone - Negative test and tested his BGs and it was 332. He ate 1/4 can FF Salmon and Shrimp before I left back to work.

When I got home at PMPS he was busy chowing down on YAZC and then had his vitamin pill, and I gave him his Azodyl and he ate 1/4 can of FF out on the deck. He feels much better now. Thank God and you guys for the vines, again.

I caught a pee at 7:00am right before I left for work and dropped it off at the vets. I made sure and called them as soon as they opened at 8:30am to let them know it was there. When I got back to work after "lunch" at 1:30pm, I called the vet and they said they were just working on it. Dr. B. called me and said that there were no white blood cells in the urine and so he did not think he had an infection. He said there were no casts. He said there was lots sugar, and some bacteria. He said the bacteria could be from the lots of sugar or from the urine sitting around? He said if I wanted to, he would give me some antibiotics for him, anyway. We talked about Amoxicillin and Clavamox and chose Clavamox. I have not given him any yet. They are for two weeks.

Thanks goodness for no white blood cells or casts found in the urine sample. You might want to ask the vetty for some sterile containers for the next time you do a urine catch. There is some possibility of bacteria in a baby food jar or the lid, even if it is washed. I have to occasionally get samples from my civie and have a small sterile container from the vet on hand just in case.
