Sending tons of positive thoughts, healing vines, and prayers for those that are sick, and am keeping Elsa, and everyone else in my prayers for their loss.

WCR:    What the heck is up with these past 2 PS #s anyway? She's acting very normal, not sluggish, or lethargic at all, and was preening when I checked on her about 5 minutes ago (before I started typing her condo, that is). The only thing(s) that I can come up with is a) contraband; b) insulin going, which I don't see that as a case at all due to the PMPS +2 dropping down to 115 last night; or c) panicky liver. If it's contraband related, then I can see the AMPS # being a tad high still, especially if she ate some kibble. I'll continue doing what I'm doing, and we'll go from there.

In the meantime, when I came back inside from feeding my horse, her bowl was still pretty much full when I checked on her. I remember her licking some of her fuds before I left the office, but didn't think she'd leave a LOT in it. I think I may have to scale back on her amount a bit, too. Still undecided on that one.

Off topic: Will be taking Bubba to the vet this morning to get another shot of Covenia for his UTI, which has flared up again. The Clavamox upsets his tummy, and he doesn't want to eat, hence the shot. Plus, it's much easier on Momma too, as I love my fingers. Oh, the joys of putting a kitty in the carrier...

MY WISH: For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For God to help those ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For everyone to have great #s... For everyone to be OJT.

Re: 10/01 Blackie AMPS 204

Have you tried Baytril instead of Clavamox? This is what I always insist on, as it's easier on the kitty.
Your vet just has to be careful about the dosing, not to overdose as it can cause blindness.

Re: 10/01 Blackie AMPS 204

I think we've tried the Baytril, but giving him pills puts stress on both of us. He doesn't like it, and the last time I gave him pills I ended up with bandaids on my fingers because of it (cats' teeth ain't dull, I tell you!)

Bubba update: Took him to the vet right after Blackie had her 7g "snack", and waited 1/2 hour before we were able to see the vet. Told the vet about Shadow, and explained to her what had happened. In the meantime, Mr. Bubs didn't want to come out of the carrier, so the vet had to drag him out. She gave him the shot, and he went straight back in by himself. Guess he didn't like the vet. I asked her if this would be a recurring thing with him, and she told me that it shouldn't. If this shot doesn't work, then we may have to have a urinalysis done on him and see what other meds are to be given to help cure it.

On the way back, he was talkative (was talkative on the way there, too), and about 1/2 - 2/3 of the way home, I heard a hissing sound. Sure enough, the smell of urine hit my nose. It's a darned good thing that I put a towel in there with him as I knew he was going to do that. When I pulled the towel out of the carrier, I noticed some blood in it. Not bright red, but it was there. Unfortunately, my truck's seat wasn't spared as he managed to pee on that a bit, too, :rolling eyes: when I hauled him out of the cab when we got home. I think I managed to clean it, though. I always put a towel in the carrier for that purpose, cuz you never know.

I gave him some food, and he drank some water, and now he's up on his high spot napping. Such a little ordeal for a big kitty. This is a 2 week shot, and I'm hoping that this will help. If not, back to the vet he goes.

Hey Angela! I hope Blackie's numbers come down for you and Bubba gets over that UTI quick!! Sorry about your truck seat. Love the smell of kitty pee while I'm taking a nice drive!! Have a great day! PS. had a GREAT time in Texas. Wish we could have met up!

Is this the sort of injection your vet would let you do at home?
That might spare the poor guy, and your truck seat ;-)

Was Blackie feeling some vet stress sympathy for Bubba? We use piddle pads in the carrier, it's nice to have the liquid-resistant backing. Sending vines for Bubba's UTI to go away.
Liz

Poor Bubba, he had a rough day  Hope he gets over his UTI real soon and Blackie comes down for you and stays out of the contraband
