....and Missy Flat Cat is still on the scene. This is her 6th cycle on this dose; I'm planning on a dosecrease tomorrow evening unless we see some sort of action.
Tonight is Zen's vetty visit for a check up and BW. He was having all the same symptoms as Petey, and now that I've switched his fuds, he's not doing the foamy fluid barf, and - like Petey - looks like he's gained weight back. But, I want to have him checked out anyway. And, now that I've had time to read, absorb, and observe, I'm anxious to talk to the vet further about Petey, too. I had read that cat food manufacturers had started over-acidifying dry food to combat struvite crystals, and that has lead to an increase in calcium oxolate crystals and incidents of hypercalcemia. My theory is that the last fuds was too acidic for my guys and was giving them "heartburn", which was resulting in the barf, weight loss, and inappetence, as well as hypercalcemia (at least in Pete). None have shown evidence of urinary issues, though...that goodness for that. If you recall, my herd has intense food sensitivies AND absolutely refuses to eat canned food.
It's already time to get ready for work. Have a great day, LL!
