Rico's BG keeps increasing, slowly but steadily. So far I try to manage through diet only. I have also attached his recent lab results - could you have a look at them too, please?

Q1: How much BG (and for how long) is dangerous and I should definitely start insulin shots again?
Q2: How much insulin (and for how long) should I start him with (given the fact that this is a temporary state that will wear off in a couple of days)?

Thank you!

I'm hoping this is temporary, which is why I suggested 0.5 units if you can monitor closely. You can probably wait another day or two if you want to, before starting insulin. The steroid effect may wear off, but the question is whether it did any damage to the pancreatic beta cells which will need some recovery time with insulin.

I will take your advice and wait until tomorrow morning unless I see him struggling. So far - thank God - he's been eating normally and he even played with the other cats last night. :)
Which BG number do you consider alarming?

I'm more interested in trends than a particular number. What the BG's are doing over time. Continuing up or levelling off. You can also track his symptoms, is he drinking and peeing more?

No, he isn't. On the contrary, I have to add water in his food because he doesn't drink much.
