Happy Friday, LL! Sending many healing vines to all in need today and extra special prayers they will soon feel better.

Alas....no Lupita Friday, today:arghh: Sorry.....Lupita's uncle is quite ill and her entire family went to CA to be with him. Of course, LBG couldn't be happier!!:cat::cat::cat: Not only is her major antagonizer not here but it's warm enough for her to be out on the catio today.

She's in a bit of bounce today and I hope she will come back down. She decided to take the fast road to a PJ Party last night. I should have not said anything about a record number of cycles at a dose;)

I have to say again that I am in awe of those of you who do this alone. I can't imagine your fatigue if you have a kitty who likes lows at night (Elise). Mike has been handling night duty since he's been home so I
can go to bed at +3.5 or +4 and sleep until the +7/+8 check and it really makes a big difference for both of us because he usually can sleep from midnight or 1 a.m. until 9 or 9:30 a.m. I know Anne and Liz also did this day bean/night bean split. It also lets me stock up on some sleep for the nights he is gone and I'm doing it alone. Gratitude....it is not overrated.:)

I'm working from home today...back on my Wed in the office and Fri at home work schedule. Have a spectacular day!

Wow, LBG seems to have switched to night time lows lately. My sympathies. Even with two it's hard. Good to know it's working so the pilot can get his sleep too!

Sending vines to Lupita's uncle. We miss her, even if Gracie doesn't.

I hope Grace clears the bounce soon. It's nice you have a DH who is so supportive and helpful. Sending prayers for Lupita's uncle.

Yes, we felt so lucky to be able to do the day/night bean shifts. Near the end, it was almost too much for Liz to do everything on her own when I had to travel. We too felt so impressed for those who were/are the solo bean in charge.:cat:

Edward is a "presence", but we both do all shifts. No extra sleep for us beans! (But we don't test after 11:30 p.m. unless it looks like Rusty might go low, so we usually get in about 6 hours of sleep.) (My Aunt Christine used to say that older people don't need so much sleep!). Have you heard about the recent sleep studies. We heard this in an NPR program: Researchers have found that until relatively recently (70 or 80 years ago), the "normal" pattern was to wake up in the middle of the night, spend a couple of hours doing something (reading, sewing, working around the house, etc.) and then resuming sleep. In other words, a full night of uninterrupted sleep is a "modern" concept.

Gracie, what have you in mind for tonight???

Sorry to hear that Lupita's uncle is not well and sending him some healing vines.

Have a good weekend, guys,

Ella & Rusty

perfect slide today for la Principessa! No Lupita today too raise her BGs! Not too low tonight though, Gracie! The beans need sleep too!

Sending vines for Lupits'a uncle.

Nice slide down for Miss Gracie- wow on +4 last night! You and Mike work together perfectly as a team- that is awesome! sending love and prayers for Lupita's Uncle. .....I beg to differ with Ella's Aunt, this "older person" needs her uninterupted beauty rest LOL :rolleyes:

Looks like the LBG might be thinking of a PJ party and Mike is working so I'm BIC tonight! He's spoiled me!

Appreciate the visits Ruth, Ann, Ella, Marilyn, Ann, Mary, Carla, and Wendy. I will be sure and let Lupita know of your thoughts and prayers. It was really quiet around here today! :cat::cat:

Hi Marje

Looks like Gracie is starting her evening out with some nice green numbers. Hope she has nice safe surf at the Lagoon and that you can get some sleep.

Gracie, Daddy's working and Mama needs her rest, so how about you hop up on your little green surfboard and cruise tonight?

So sorry about Lupita's uncle, and not just because we miss her adventures with LBG! Please add my best wishes to the rest of the group's.

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) you explained my sleep pattern perfectly. ...guess I am not as modern a gal as I thought!

Now Gracie slow your roll a bit so momma can get some zzzz's....

So sorry to hear of Lupita's uncle....sending lots of prayers to her and her family

I totally agree with you on having a team member to help with this. My DH is awesome about helping. He tends to be the morning bean, and I tend to be the night bean. I also have a great deal of awe/respect for those who do this on their own.

LBG is looking very nice lately. More good cycles than bounce cycles. :D Hope she has a nice FLAT, SAFE run for you tonight! Vines for Lupita's uncle. Have a great weekend, Marje!

(((Amy))) i'm sorry the numbers have gone up but remember....treat the cat which is what you've been doing and she's doing great. I'd rather phosphorus stay down so it's good you have been able to keep that under control. Did your vet think you should perhaps do fluids every day now?

To answer this from Trix's condo...we are already doing 100mls every day, but vetty said to slowly increase it. We're now doing 125mls a day, and in a week we'll increase to 150mls a day. We're increasing the phos. binder a bit, too - I was only doing about 1/8 tsp morning and 1/8 tsp evening. I'm a little shell-shocked, as she really seems like normal Trixie, and not a cat with such horrific kidney values.
