Good Morning Lantus Land!!!
Attie called and said he wasn't coming home from Texas and I should pack everything up and head to warmer country. He said the warm weather, awesome food prepared by the kitchen crew, and friendly folks was just his idea of a great cup of ~O) ~O) ~O)

It is a balmy and lovely 10F outside this morning without the windchill. Snow is supposed to continue until noon today. Don't know if Gary will be by this morning...sort of hoping he is snuggled down somewhere warm, be it in the lodge or a garage. Hopefully he'll hold up until this afternoon. I'll need my snowshoes to get to the lodge this morning to add a hot sock.

For perspective: Note that these are big dogs, the truck bumper and the height of the snow in relation to the shoveled out area. :lol: :lol: :o Yes, the car in the background is drifted in too ohmygod_smile .

Edit: strikeout grill and correct to car bumper....guess warm weather & times are really on my mind!!! :razz:

Oh my gosh, is all this snow from last night! I see you are in OH - I have family in central and northern PA. I bet it's the same snow and weather in that part of the country, too! Morning to Atlas and you from Maggie and me.

Good Morning Ann and Lisa,

That snow is from yesterday...not the overnight yet. Still too dark outside for pictures. And yes, upper PA most likely has the same thing.

Windchill with the mild 10mph winds makes it (-4)F. That means at minus 4, frostbite occurs in about 30 minutes on exposed skin

I'm lovin' Attie's numbers these days too.

WoW! You got a lot of snow. We didn't get that much here. Just a few inches.
I hope you go to the lodge and find Gary all cuddled up warm.

Nice AMPS to start the day with.

I remember those Cleveland winters and I lived downtown and didn't get as much of the lake effect stuff. Although, I'd moved there from Minneapolis so I had a bit of a different perspective on amounts of snow.

I hope you and your crew stay safe, warm, and dry. Even if Atlas wants to move south, he's showing some great numbers lately.

Gary is so lucky to have you watching over him! Good for you. That is a lot of snow. We actually got to see green grass here last week and have only had our snow blower out once this year (we are above NY state). New York is getting all our snow :mrgreen:

That's a nice neat number for Atlas this morning! It looks kinda bluish to me.....
Hope you can keep warm today....looking at those pictures is giving me a heart attack....
i agree with Atlas that you should move down south....that looks so soooooo cold...Brrrr!

The sun is shining right now :-D , snow is sparkling like diamond dust, birds are at the feeder...

...and we just dropped down to 9F....getting colder this morning...not warmer....

Yeah...blue today ...yeah either cold, screen name, or Attie's numbers...

No Celi, we don't have boxers. Those are the neighbor's...Jack and Jill LOL...

Attie is getting an ear break today since he won't come home from Texas until the snow melts!

Ok now that just looks darn cold. holy cow. Now I see why Attie has decided to stay in Texas until it warms up. I guess I never really realized how cold and snowy it can get in OH. WOW! Double Wow on Gary. That makes me appreciate even more how much you take care of him.

Attie - Texas must agree with you - very nice numbers.

On a very serious note, it was this time last year that Attie was picked up by Animal control and brought to the Berea Animal Rescue. He was 4 pounds at the time.

It has warmed up this afternoon to 25F and the sun is shining. Rebel the neighbor's cat was sunning on top of the lodge when I went out. No sign of Gary today...gotta figure he is somewhere snug and warm. We'll see if he shows up tonight...the lodge was used last night too.

Wow I had no idea Atlas had overcome as much as he has. He is truly an inspiration. I'm so glad he had people fighting with him. Give him a hug from me.

Just used the new FreeStyle lite meter with the funky test strips with kwiksip technology...

OMG!!!! what a dream come true to use. One pokey, a touch of the strip and immediately into reading mode...plus you can add blood for up to 60 sec. if you don't get enough the first time...but the pokey would have been a second pokey on the Relion ultima...

Lubs the new meter!!

Plus Gary just came by for a visit too!!!! :thumbup

I just has a lovely bar-b-cue roasted rabbit dinner with a few greens on the side, my boots are warm by the open fire and MudCat is softly playing the guitar. ~~Attie

It is ...I just had the opportunity to test the 60 second rule... and if you can't tell, I am very impressed. Where I would have just thrown away several test strips...I used just one.

I'll be off to Hocks tomorrow to get more strips...they had the best price as far as I could tell.

Course it won't hurt to check e-bay.

And I might add...for a newbie...this meter & new strips would take a lot of the stress away of testing.

Thanks for the meter info. I might have to get one of those. I know I've seen one cheap somewhere in the last few days, I just don't remember where. Sounds like a dream when you have a cat who likes to bite when you have to milk the ear. :?

I snagged my meter at Walgreens for $14.99, it will be FREE when I send in the $40 rebate offer. So even if you can't find a Walgreens there is an awesome rebate. Strip were least expensive so far through Hocks.

We're very happy being able to dial back pokie intensity.

Glad you like the condo Celi !!! Any chance someone can get Attie to come back from his Texas outing...with the MudCats?
