40Good morning, all! It has been a crazy bouncy week for us! We've been holding our 1.5 dose since Sunday night, with dips down into the 200s, a lot of time spent in the 300s, and some 400s thrown in for good measure.

I finally was able to get to the pet store to pick up a feliway dispenser, plugged it in last night around 9 and woke up to a 184 this morning. woo! I am hopeful that this along with the work we'll be doing with a rug doctor this weekend will help to de-stress my guy and keep our numbers in the greens and blues!

I think I've finally found a supplement that will work for us... it's called Vibrant Pets Frisky Feline Formula. It looks to be pretty balanced, and though it contains some organic chicken liver digest, I called the company (small mom and pop operation... i'm sure my vet will be thrilled. :roll: ) and the owner assured me it was just a trace amount added as a flavoring to make it more palatable. It's also cheaper than my previous supplement, so even better! I've secured cases of wellness core salmon and white fish and go! natural freshwater trout formulas and also found that petco sells Natural Balance Venison and Peas which is a limited ingredient formulation. So we can finally get this poultry elimination ball rolling, though I may finish off the last batch of food with our old supplement. As an added bonus, several people have claimed that the Vibrant Pets formulas cleared up allergy and skin conditions dramatically, so I am cautiously optimistic. Getting the diet stuff squared away is a huge weight off my shoulders.

Good luck with the supplement and food choices! The feliway is so awesome! Great numbers today.

So good to see you both.. I have often thought of you this week & wondered where you were! Sounds like Willie is getting quite the gifts lately! So exciting to spoil our furbabies :smile: I hope the food supplement stuff works for any allergies.. I feed Nature's Variety Raw Rabbit & Chicken and the packaging says it is good for relieving allergy symptoms. Thank you for the info on the DPS, I had hired one about a year ago & it did not work out. She was suggested by my vet & we met, she seemed wonderful & had her own business.. Baby is a very mild mannered kitty.. but she would not allow this woman to test her BG or give her a shot & I was so upset that Baby's schedule got messed up. She was also $20 per day.. so I think that sounds right.

Paws crossed for the Feliway.....I used it alot when I moved and my two kitties were so stressed. I bought 3 of them to use in a small apartment....I'm a bit obssessive. :mrgreen:

Thanks, guys! I am hopeful we can get him fully on track soon. Another fun discovery today... got my Freestyle Lite meter and 10 strips in the mail today (you can request that they send you one... it's free!). The strips DO work in the Alphatrak, and it was almost exactly 30 points lower than the AT strips. Though, I'm liking the freestyle meter... it has a backlight, which will be handy for nighttime pokes! Strips are about half the price... little more than the relion, but not terrible.

Willie! I am so excited that you are coming to Shadow's party - that is just so cool. be careful driving, OK? You gots on a plane too? That is so cool - I never been on a plane. You will hafta tell me all about it. I am excited too to have you in the kitchen - we can use all the help we can get, It will be fun - I like the kitchen, we gets to sample everything! So much for the good numbers. Having held the dose for 5 days and based on today's spot check, I upped him to 1.75. Have done passes with the rug doctor on our two main rugs (our apartment is thankfully all hardwood, so we just have area rugs.). Gotta get the tree down and then will do furniture before bed. Hoping this makes a difference for him! At least I got the rug doctor cheap... was able to use two coupons at Ace, so got the big machine and the attachments for only $15 for the day!

Off to do the tree, and get some dinner! This bean just realized she's hungry!

Story of our week. brief interludes in the blues, quickly followed by yellows and pinks. considering taking him to the emergency vet nearby that does regular care as well and has specialists on staff. going to get an estimate from them for the dermatologist there to run the tests my vet wants run.... and if they're high, maybe see if it would be possible for them to review my vet's numbers. He did so great at my parents' house over Christmas, but since we've been home, not so much. If I thought my mom would follow through with his treatment, I'd have her foster him for a few months. *sigh* just frustrated. am stepping away from the pity party now. At least there was pudding and coolwhip involved (both sugarfree, but still yummy!).

Going to bed in a few... may try to set the alarm for a +7. Have been working to get Willie from a 8:30 dose time to a 7:00am to 7:15am one. Means early days for the Bean :shock: , but will allow me two advantages... a +6 over my lunch hour when needed, and a 7:30 to 4:00 work schedule that will give me time to get to the gym in the evening (or home for more tests if needed). Bizarre that I was up by 7am today doing dishes and straightening up around the house. Feels blasphemous!
