Yesterday was...... BLUE DAY in MannieLand. Rumor has it that the Blue Mannie Group was performing live on Oliver's fishing dock, Maggie's sunny CA beach, and at the treehouse in the remote regions of the forest of the PNW...... Way to go guys! What a great day for Mannie. Two blue days in a row! In fact almost a repeat of the day before: pinks to start with a nice slide into the blue grotto. It was great to have him have a blue day: a nice steady blue surf. We hope for a great day today - lots of Blue for the Blue Mannie Group. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

Yesterday was also BP recheck day... which was kinda a bust... from yesterday's condo: CARDIO/BP results: well we made it there and back.... The BP test was, in the cardio vets opinion, an invalid read. Mannie was so agitated, and squirmy and so not wanting that little white band on his leg that he was far from relaxed and the readings were way off the charts - like 240.   ;-) so..... we will repeat this check in a couple of weeks, and if need be mildly "sedate" him so that they get a more relaxed reading, factoring in the effect of the sedation. Today's test, in his opinion, was not reliable. So it goes I hear in the world of BP testing... and this was after I had stayed with him for 15 minutes got him in a nice relaxed state. The minute he saw the two lab techs and that machine and the BP band and the gel it was all over.  aiyeee! in regards to the other questions: plavix and possible nausea: he feels that we need to know first if Mannie is dealing with a UTI, and once that is under treatment, after a week or so, if the nausea still persists then we can change meds. If his labs reveal no UTI we will change sooner. so for now: lab results first, consult, followed by possible meds adjustment, BP test again in a few weeks. Meds will stay as is for now. HOPEFULLY labs will be back today.

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D He is so done with vetty's. so done! He was so happy be home. I let him out of the carrier and he does the usual house patrol, and once he was satisfied that all was as it should be he settled on his nanners for a long relaxation period. later I found him asleep in his bed, glad I am sure to be there. He seemed more his normal self yesterday, more the Mannie I know: alert, just doing normal Nannie things. I will be glad when this whole vetty stuff is resolved, we have the labs back and a definitive decision on the heart meds, and can get on with Mannie living. LOL: I vacuumed yesterday too. I was good: respected the nanner pile boundary and did not disturb the nanner king while he was holding court. He did however keep one eye on me - making sure I didn't breach the boundary...  This morning we had a great test, feed (for amps at least, so far) and shoot and clean plate club (with encouragement), purrs and lots of cuddles. Normalcy, sort of, in MannieLand.

Have a great day everyone. I have dentist appt at noon, then coffee with my friend in Seattle. It will be so good to get out, even if it is the dentist. Looking forward however to seeing my friend, WOO HOO! coffee in the big city!

Hey everybody! WOOT! What a day yesterday! And I am SO DONE WITH VETTYS! no more for me, no-sir-ree! Hey you guys wanna go to the fish market in seattle today? They have such funs there - tossing the fishies, singing, carrying on. I bet we could catch a few of them fishies... We could bring back our catches to the treehouse and grill and stuff. what do you think? Anybody got anything they wanna do? let me know - I am ready for anything, as long as it doesn't have the word vetty in it! ~ Mannie

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333

Morning Michelle and indeed a Mannie recovery day and many thanks Mannie for the 10 hour energy coffee and Triple Espresso and yum on that blended coffee drink. Nice Blue Grotto day yesterday in spite of all the went thru yesterday. Have you ever tried Rescue Remedy? It didn't always work on my GA kitty, but some people swear by it. I know as soon as we bring them home and out of the carrier, normalcy in kitty land. I hope you soon learn the results of the UTI. The waiting game is horrible.
Sending good dental vines and enjoy having coffee with your friend in Seattle.

Mannie, Fish Markets today sound great and then grilling back at the Treehouse. I'll bring some niptunis for all and catnip cheesecake. See ya at the curb, mags

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333

I'm glad to hear Mannie is more himself today, and CPC-ed his breakfast. Hopefully he'll get used to the BP check thing. Mario used to get stressed when we first started going for those checks, but he eventually got used to to hte point where they could do the check right away and not have to wait for him to calm down.

Have a great day, Michelle!

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288

I'm sure Mannie will be happy to not have to go to the vet today. Hopefully he keeps sliding down for you today and you won't have to worry while you're out. Good luck at the dentist.

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288

Definitely going in the right direction, Mannie. Next stop: the grotto. Great report this morning, too. :-D Does Elsa play with the nanners while Mannie goes to the vet?
Liz

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288

Enjoy your afternoon tea, Michelle! Yes, it's always nice to get away for a short while & see friends. Seattle? Ive a friend working in a pet salon in Seattle. She is working as a groomer there.
Nice to see Mannie having no food spike at +2! Well done Mannie!

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288

288 @ +2. WOO HOO! We have yellow, and the new pattern continues - pink amps, then down he goes. Not too bad... just nice and slow Mannie, 'K?

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) Things are bit more normal today - still the same pick appy, but at least he is eating. YAY! I hope he will get used to the BP thing too. I think in time he will - this is a new vetty place for him, he's not familiar with it, and then to have people he does not know mess with him, well no wonder he was a bit agitated. can't say that I blame him on that one. :-D ;-) THX on the day - not too bad so far!

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) Yesterday was a decent day for him. It was nice to see all that blue, especially after all that vetty stuff! I have nor tried Rescue Remedy, never really had the need. I too have read where some swear by it, others say it was so so. OH yes, as soon as he was home it was back to business as usual. I think that in time he will come to know this vetty place and it will be better. His regular vet he knows, and I don't get such anxiety there. we will see how it goes... and yes on the labs! I hope to hear today. If not I will call them by days end. THX for the vines! it's just a checkup, should be no big deal. :?
Auntie Ann - AWESOME! On my way, and gots special blend I mades for you 'puter. :-D heeeheeeheee.... see you soon, coming around the bend. See me??? ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Morning Carla ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes on the vetty thing - I am sure he has a watchful eye out for that carrier. Me too on tehslide down. - I think we will be OK, I'll get out, he'll be fine. THX too on the dentist! FUN!

Morning Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) And that is what I told him - keep on sliding, nice and slow.... I so hope he remembers the slow part. :-D and yes on the nanners. She tries whenever she thinks she can get away with it. There are so many now that I really am beginning to think that he doesn't mind so much anymore. The boy is mellowing in his old age... :-D

Hi Helen ~O) ~O) ~O) THX - And I will! it is always fun to head into town for that. :-D Very cool on your friend! yupp - I am off to Seattle. YAY! And I agree on the no fuds spike. :-D GO MANNIE!!!

Maggie - awesome then - Let's do it! OOOOOOOOOOOOO! Niptinis AND Cheesecake! I am so there.... Picks you up at the curb! ~ Mannie

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288

Pink to yellow...that's the right direction Mannie! Good luck waiting for the results....hope you have a nice day n the big city Michelle!

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288

That's sad when someone is happy that the dentist is a good excuse to get out. With me, it's grocery shopping

Hi Michelle
I wonder if cats think about yesterday, as in...."goody, I don't have to get in that plastic box again today". Although they sure know what it is, don't they?

I hope you get those reports back quickly, Michelle. Waiting is stressful. Lets find out, and get on the proper med and get better!
Great blue day yesterday....another would be nice, but no diving today....it's visit with friend day.

Have a wonderful time Michelle...after dentist. Is is cute? Mine is. :-D

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288

Hi guys .. yes!! Two blue days in a row .. and what do you have planned for this afertnoon mannie? MORE BLUES!!!! Sorry to hear the trip to the vet's didn't reveal much news .. Hopefully you can get a better BP reading next time .. is there anyway to check it at home? That might make a difference on his numbers, if he is in his own surroundings .. kinda like spot checks .. Anyways, hope you have a great day!

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288, +4 234

234 2 +4. What a nice slow slide down - well done Mannie!

Morning Pat ~O) ~O) ~O) Many thanks - Sure hope those labs come in today. Well that is what it is... and we wait ever so patiently! THX on Seattle too: it will be good to get out for a while. :-D

Morning Barb ~O) ~O) ~O) oh HAHA! Gotta put a YAY spin n the dentist.  nah - he's note cute, just an average good looking guy, very nice actually. :-D Ya know I wonder the same thing - about the carrier. What was "sad" yesterday was that he saw me get it and ran downstairs to hide. Poor Mannie - he is so done with the whole mess.  I agree on the labs - I hope they aren't as back-logged as the last time we had a C&S done - it took 5 days! shesshhhh! I so want to at least help him feel better if we can't fix it then at least help him feel good. THX on yesterday - it was a good day for him, and today he's bit slower getting there - fine with me. :-D :-D

Hi Devon ~O) ~O) ~O) It was cool - two blue days in a row. Not too sure he will get there today, if he does it won't be as quick. THX on all the BP stuff, I hope so too. I will be asking about the at home stuff - see what they say, as I know it would make a difference for him.

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288, +4 234

Morning guys! Woo hoo on the slide down this morning! Looks like it may be blue day again in Mannie Land! 217 @ 5.5 - YAY! Still headed down.... go Mannie! Almost blue. :-D

Morning Michelle ~O) ~O) ~O) Yupp, we are sliding , soon to be blue - well, we hope so anyways. :-D AH OK on Scrabble. I don't know why I thought he was a youngin' - like 8 or 9. Mannie just turned 16. THX on Seattle, it will be fun - always is, even with the dentist throw in the mix. Good news on Lisa and Leo. Miss them, so it is good to know all is OK.

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288, +4 234, +5.5 217

Nice slide and no food spike! Whoo Hoooo! Have a good time in Seattle, well, after the dentist! Paws crossed for speedy lab work!

Mannie! WOOT! on the fish market! Is maui coming? She is so good at getting them to drop fish! Hey, Z-man is going to the vetty! We got to do KTSS for him later! I wonder if he still has good snow? -- Tess

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288, +4 234, +5.5 217

That looks like almost blue to me, I bet when you return from Seattle the BMG will have made an appearance again. It's a nice slow gradual descent. Sending good dental vines for you - may it be quick and non eventful. Will your kitties lick the dental smell off you when you return?

Waiting for lab results is so hard. It does take a few days for the culture, so we'll hope they can get straight to it with no backlog.

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +2 288, +4 234, +5.5 217

Lovely slide down today Mannie, I bet you show your Momma some pretty blues later, hint hint ;-) Coffee in the big city sounds like fun, it is always great to get together with friends, no matter what you end up doing. I hope you had a great time.

Hugs,
Kathie

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +5.5 217, +11 93, Lab results

93 @ +11. WOO HOO! We are green! WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!!

and the vet called! WOO HOO! - all labs are normal, kidney stuff, other stuff, fecal stuff, and the C&S is not growing anything, so far after the preliminary report- no UTI. We are still waiting on the final report, but so far all IS WELL in MannieLand. so..... next step is to contact the cardio man and see if we can try another med instead of Plavix, see if this rules out the no appy, possible nausea. Things are looking good. :-D :-D

Hi Ann - WOW! Rainbow kitty today - what a great slide! Seattle was great - even the dentist wasn't too bad. ;-) Labs are back - all is well!

Hi Wendy - That is was, and now we are green ! AWESOME! Looks like the BMG was busy at the fish market - the rainy fish market   dental was quick and non-eventful. :-D :-D OOOO! KTSS for us beans! We should ask, huh. Prelim labs are back, holdup is always the C&S, but prelim shows nothing is growing. YAY!

HI Kathie ~O) ~O) ~O) And he did! well I missed the blues, but came home to a great green. Coffee was fun - enjoyed it, even the lousy weather that has enveloped the city today. Had a great time!!

Tess - I KNOW! I LUBS the fish market - I so hope on Maui,. I will swing by her place and see if she can come. Paws crossed! OH NO on Z-Man! OK - KTSS for sure then - I will get my supplies. See you soon! ~~ Mannie

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +5.5 217, +11 93, Lab results

NICE!! Glad the labs all came back clear! At least now you know it's most likely the meds. I hope you can get those changed quickly. Hope you had a fantastic time in Seattle.

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +5.5 217, +11 93, Lab results

Well Tess, Mannie,

That explains everything. I was wondering why Maui's wagon was packed with ice and she was pacing the hall and mumbling gotta catch fish, gotta catch fish this morning. She even practiced her look and meow, which gets any bean to do her bidding.

I hope you all have fun at the fish market. Funny, but I thought Maui didn't eat fish..... :?

Hey Mannie,

Hurry up! I'm ready and the ice is melting in my wagon. Let's get this show on the road and get us some yummy fish. Today, I want scallops and oysters, do you have a good grillin recipe for them. And maybe we will find a pearl in our oysters too what a nice surprise we can give our beans!

Come pick me up with the bus and I'll drive from here!

Signed, Maui the Magnificent

Re: 1/8 Mannie AMPS 333, +5.5 217, +11 93, Lab results
