Yesterday Jetta 1/7
Good Sunday morning LL.

There is not enough ~O) ~O) ~O) in all the world for me today. It was pretty much an all-nighter with Jetta, but I think things are looking up!

She had a 9 hour period with no diarrhea, and this morning's liquipoo had NO blood and was fairly representative of the baby food she had overnight. Starting about +3 last night continuing all night, I syringe fed her most of a jar of turkey baby food which she kept down (no vomit!). This morning at AMPS she drank water (first time doing this on her own in a day and a half), Urine Ketones tested Negative (thank you Jetta for delivering that sample upon request cat_pet_icon ), and she ate about 1 oz of a/d food on her own! (we've used this as a "recovery" food in the past with very good results) She also was wandering around the house, bossing the dog out of her way in the hallway, and scratching on the scratchey pad. These are things she has not done in +2 days.

SO, I am cautiously optimistic at this point, that the worst may (please please please and antijinx ) be behind us. Thank you all once again for the continued healing vines, well wishes, and of course for the magical KTSS.

ETA: She just polished off the remainder of the 1.4 or 1.5 oz of a/d I set out at AMPS. YAHOO! :thumbup Now praying it all stays in and digests well.

Jaclyn, this is a great way to start my Sunday! I'm so glad Jetta is feeling better!! But I'm not relaxing the prayers. Continue the march to full recovery little Jetta.

Re: 1/8 Jetta PMPS 423 and a Q

Hello all, Jetta continues to improve. Her personality is better and the diarrhea frequency has decreased although it's still here... she's nibbling on her own but I am going to syringe feed now since she isn't interested in eating like she was this morning.

Question- I know you're not supposed to dosecrease during a bounce but what about during an illness? Jetta has been flat pink 8 cycles, minus one in the middle with blue and one she dipped into mid-yellow. I really HATE to leave her up on these high floors this long and wondered if I can take her dose up to 1 U tomorrow AM if she remains high tonight? Or do we wait till she's 100% again?

ETA---decided to try her regular food since she refused a/d before resorting to syringing. Eating Wellness chicken with gusto (well, Jetta's version of gusto) on her own :RAHCAT

Re: 1/8 Jetta PMPS 423 and a Q

Jaclyn, I'm so happy Jetta's doing so well today :-D Bossing drooler is good

I love when someone else asks my questions. Waiting for answer to you, about bouncing. :-D

i don't know about an "official" answer, but i would go up if she were mine. she's had some pretty high numbers.

why don't you put that question in your subject line so you get an answer?

and i'm so very glad she seems better today. bossy is good. less diarrhea is good. no blood is great. those are all good signs. cat_pet_icon

i'm so glad she's starting to feel better!

i almost always take alex's dose up when her numbers start rising from not feeling well, but i monitor carefully whenever i do it. the longer she spends in higher numbers she'll not only feel crummy, but some glucose toxicity often sets in and it takes that much longer to bring the numbers down again.
