Hi all!

Yesterday

Garland never "drops" after a shot. (actually, she tends to rise) When I think back to all her numbers , for the most part they always seem very.... umm... "flat" I guess is the right word to use. When she gets low, its its typically out of the blue one day, in the morning.

I guess, Im wondering, any thoughts on her numbers? She was green for a few weeks solid back around thanksgiving, but since then has been hovering around 300. She seems healthy and happy, spunky and thriving... so 300 doesnt seem to be a bad number for her, but why is she green for a month and then pink for another and for almost a year now (on average), 300 is the number she always hovers around? Just trying to understand all of this :)

Gosh Violet, I wish I could offer and easy answer for you on Garland's condition but all I can offer is a (((hug)))

Is your insulin ok? Not too old? No diet changes? No out of the ordinary situations or new routines?

All I can think of is what my Vet says about diabetes -- "It's a thermometer for the overall condition of the cat." In other words any stress on the cat will make BG go high.

When Cini started having asthma symptoms you can see exactly where it started on his chart. So maybe something is brewing in Garland and it just hasn't bubbled up to the surface yet?

Violet I am concerned about her numbers, especially with her DKA history. Maybe you should ask a dosing advisor for help or flag that you need someone to look at her spreadsheet and advise what you should do.

She is acting great. Running around, playful, happy. I hope everything is okay... I opened a new pen this morning just to make sure the insulin is good. Everything is still the same around here. No diet change, no new routines, no new people in the house. Same ole same ole.

The DKA stuff is what makes me nervous too. The last few times shes hovered around 300 is when the ketones started appearing and she stopped eating nailbite_smile
