Good morning?!

Where did my winter break go?!?! I head back to school today. Luckily, no students today, so maybe I'll get a little work done...like grades that are due today!!

When i got up this morning, i found Shasta sitting on the floor part of her cat condo w/ her face inches from the rope scratching post. I'm concerned w/ this because I have watched her eating the little bits of rope that stick out. :? Anyone have any advice on this??

Otherwise, she seems ok. A lot like yesterday. Appy is ok. She ate a little, then walked away. I'm now holding her bowl for her and she's eating more. Her personality seems a little off and I don't know what to do. :YMSIGH:

Ok, it's time for me to get ready for work. Hope everyone has a lovely Monday...assuming that's possible! :-D

Blessings, Deborah & Shasta

Hi guys .. hmm .. no advice as far as eating the rope goes .. I do know that some people on here have cat's that eat strange things, maybe this is something like that? I think some cat's even eat the corn cat litter that is out there .. I hope all is well with shasta, maybe she is just sad you are heading back to work? Have a great day!

Hmm.. Could be a grass substitute... You could try buying her some cat grass to chew... You will probably step in some puke later.. Lol...

Man, talk about an attitude change. I'm really not sure what's up w/ her, but she's off. Her aggressive tendencies are very short lived and usually when I'm antagonizing her, but tonight... She's snapping at me for no reason. As I type this, she comes over, from her cat condo, and settles on my lap. I don't know. :?

She fells off her cat condo. :o Tried to jump from the middle level to the top level and she wasn't positioned well for the jump and ended up not making the jump and fell over backwards onto the carpet.

Hi Devon, I hope you're right that she's just mad at me for leaving her and going back to work. She's been known to eat some strange things from time to time...toilet paper, my sheet music, books, paper towels, ribbons! Thankfully, she's not a litter eater!

Wendy, I'm not sure I need more help w/ finding things to make her puke!!!! I just wish I could read her mind...for so many reasons!

the cats that I've been around who snapped for no reason were always in pain....
one was arthritic and even though she wanted petting, it hurt too much and she would lash out....

if only Shasta could tell you.... :YMSIGH:

Rhiannon, that was my first thought...she's in pain...somehow...somewhere. Of course, we just went to the vet for her rabies and anal sac expression, and that was as good as it gets for her "check up." No blood was shed, but she's willing to take off the vets arm if it comes to it. I'm thinking he does not want to sedate her for the sake of my paranoia...seeing as its risky w/ her heart condition. I don't know. It's such a poopy feeling to now know what's going on with her.

you just mentioned she fell off the condo...
and I remember she had some clicking weeks back...
hopefully she'll give you a hint so you have a direction....

if only they really had a full body scanner that could catch everything.... like in the movies...
just walk thru and oh, look.... we should take a closer look at that!?

Re: 1/7 Shasta PMPS=212 +2=132 +3.5=76 +4=119

Hope she feels better and arthrtis could be the problem--A simple xray will tell you where it is..and there are many good meds you could give Shasta that could help a lot!
The machine on the Starship Enterprise was good for body scans too..
Hope Shasta feels better soon...She had some nice numbers today--Hugs & Love from us!

I agree with Roni that it cold be arthritis pain making it hard to jump on her condo. It's hard to watch them fall...they are supposed to be such lithe creatures. I hope she will feel better tomorrow.

Sorry you had to go back to school. I know you miss your time with your little fluffy ribbon eater ;-)

 my little fluffy ribbon eater is in a better(ish) mood. Can catnip cause weird aggressive-y tendencies in some cats? I've only noticed this behavior since I got her the Mike Wazowski catnip toy and she's quite determined, while playing with it, to rip his cyclops off!! Growling and all. I don't let her play w/ it for long and she tends to lose interest after a brief wrestling session w/ it...but maybe that's part of the issue!? Hmmmm...

As my neighbor tells me..."stop watching her so closely! You're going to start making up symptoms...if you haven't already!"

Hi Deborah, that is something she fell backwards off the condo. I know Mags cries/hollers for me when she wants up on the bed where before she could climb up okay. For her, it's the start of arthritis. Sending some vines and scritches for Shasta. Hope you both are sleeping well.
