Good Morning, Everyone,
It's a chilly one here. All that warm weather yesterday melted the ice and then everything froze solid (2 degrees this morning). My car tires were frozen to the floor of the garage!! Almost all of our snow is gone. The big storm with 2-3 feet of lake-effect snow is to our west and south. We took down the Xmas tree yesterday and Rusty seemed genuinely disappointed to see it go. He's been sitting in it's spot! Here I thought all along that he didn't like the tree. I caught him once drinking the tree's water (filthy: full of tree resin and old paint from the stand). Weird!!! Anyway, we had a good night, a good test this morning, a mild "ouchie" shot (Rusty pulled away and the last half drop didn't get in), breakfast (1st sitting), lung treat, and a brief comforting hug on the futon, next to where the tree was. Then I had to take Edward to his first yoga class of the new year. When I got back Rusty was asleep in his little bed by the radiator, so no schmooze.
I'm getting my gear ready to climb St. Regis Mt. tomorrow. I ordered a pair of Kahtoola hiking crampons (longer spikes than the microspikes) and they came today. I can't wait to try them out. They will be perfect for the ice conditions we have encountered thus far this winter. The climb is supposed to be on snowshoes, but it doesn't look like there will be enough snow for snowshoes.
Wishing you all a good, healthy day. Healing vines to all who need them,
Ella & Rusty
