1/7 Luci AMPS 249 Disappointing news from vet :(

[Sue and Luci]

Monday

The vet report was not what we had hoped for. X-ray revealed that one of the three broken bones has not healed. The vet is consulting with his orthopedic guy and the question is whether or not Luci would benefit from the surgical placement of a plate to help fuse those bones.

So we wait.

And Luci continues to klunk around with this cast on her foot. We're all disappointed about that news - and will see what the ortho guy has to say - apparently he only works three days a week - so will have to review her x-rays when he is in and able to do the consult.

Luci seems fine with it - so we'll see what they say. Darn it all...

So frustrating about poor Luci’s foot. I’m so surprised it didn’t heal properly. I hope she won’t end up needing surgery. Like Sandra said, it’s definitely a saving grace that Luci is already used to the cast.

So disappointing.... sorry for you and Luci ! I was so sure everything would be all right. A good thing the cast doesn't seem to bother her too much anymore !! As Paula said, maybe a little more time would help! You'll see what the ortho says.... waiting again !!!

Yes, everything is on hold until we figure out what to do about her foot...no phone call today I'm discouraged...

Poor little Luci! I hope the specialist can help and get it healed. Have you ever looked into infrared and also cold laser treatments? When my Livia was about 11 mos old, she twisted her knee and popped her kneecap out. We did a combination of both infrared and cold (Erchonia) laser treatments and it really helped her to heal quickly and she’s never had another issue with it anti jinx.

Oh Sue, I am sorry to hear this news. I hope the doctor will have good news for you. I know Luci does not care about having the cast and she is a happy girl. Maybe the doctor will find a way to get her leg healed properly without surgery. Praying for both of you
