After getting a PM+8 at 280, I was surprised to see her AMPS so low. I still can't figure out her cycle. She was hungry this morning, though. Promptly ate all of her breakfast and started in on one of my other cat's. ;-) She's also been hiding under the bed to avoid testing and dosing. Or maybe it's because I'm keeping my house so cool (62 degrees) and there's a heating vent down there so she's nice and cozy?

Still showing some signs of UTI, though no blood in the urine. I'm giving it one more day and will call and talk to the vet tomorrow if things don't improve.

Don't you just wish they could tell us when they're ill ? :-D

Hoping Dusty gets better before the vet's pending visit.

Nice amps this morning, yes these cats are hard to figure out huh? Poor baby hiding under the bed, could also be that she doesn't feel good? Hope things improve with the uti, I would def call the vet tomorrow if you see no improvement. Hope you have a nice evening!

Re: 1/7, Dusty, AMPS 198

Thanks Denise and Michelle!

I've already called the vet and she's to go back in tomorrow. I noticed some blood still in the urine (I have a puppy pad in front of the litter box for spills and the puddle was pink) so back in for a cystocentesis and culture tomorrow.

As it is, she's back under the bed sleeping away. At least she's eating and drinking normally. Goober.

A jump for the PMPS that I'm not thrilled about. I'll grab a +2, but these numbers mean I can probably sleep pretty well tonight. That's the mixed blessing of a higher-than-desired PMPS, I guess!

Dusty gets to go to the vet tomorrow. Her UTI isn't clearing up with the clavamox so they're going to draw the urine from her bladder and culture it. I have to leave her at the vet and will be leaving food, insulin, and some Very Specific Instructions with them.

I just hope they figure out what it is soon so we can get her on meds that will make her feel better. I hate seeing pink pee! Not to mention an uncomfortable and unhappy kitty.

I *was* able to grab a ketone test, though. It continues to be negative. Though I swear sometimes I psych myself out, trying to tell the difference between none and trace (the strip has a beige square that turns light pink with trace ketones (and then goes progressively darker the more ketones there are). She *is* eating and drinking well, though. And preening. I'm just hoping to hear more of those purrs once this damnable UTI gets cleared up. (And there shall be shouting from the rooftops when she starts to *play* again. I don't think I've seen her play in at least a month. Probably more like two.)

I'm sorry she is still having UTi issues but sometimes it takes a week or more to clear. Good luck at the vet tomorrow.

Glad the ketones are negative. Sometimes I stare all too closely at that strip  trying to make sure it is clearly beige ;-)

Yeah, I need to find those patience pants and put them on. :-D

I'll feel better once the urine is cultured so they know precisely what's growing up in her bladder. And I'll be able to grab some different pain meds tomorrow so I can at least make her comfortable while she's got to go through this.

I'm glad you're feeling better, Marje! Hope Tucson has cleared that cold and rainy spell it had a week or so back. (Though the more rain, the better the wildflower season. I guess it's a trade off!)

It will take a few days to grow the culture but you can at least get some pain meds.

Thanks...it's been chilly here because of the wind. It's supposed to be nice the next two days and then really cold this weekend.
