Good morning, lantus folk!
What a blessing this little guy is in my life.
When you wake up in Binkstown, you almost invariably wake up with a smile, a chuckle, or outright laughter. This morning was the latter.
I'm burnt out on borders, so last night, knowing it would mean that Binks would avoid the bedroom, i nevertheless decided the door was staying open...all cats on the loose. It went down much as i envisioned...with Smudge and Annie throwing pride to the wind and for the most part, holding back their tendency to threaten each other as they jockeyed for the closest cuddle position with the bean in the featherbed. Normally they keep about a 10 foot "personal space" boundary from each other. Not as restful a scene as you might imagine...they are so pitifully desperate for human contact that they beg for petting for the first two hrs...jealously ensuring that they get equal shares of stroking and quiet murmurs. Then Smudge commences Olympic quality snoring, while Annie wakes about every 20 minutes and touches me repeatedly to make sure i'm still there. If i could fit comfortably in one of the hammocks on the cat gym...i'd get a good night's sleep.
This morning, before the alarm, Binks employed his ninja training to silently climb up on the bed and position himself between the two girls, then reached out and touched my face. I looked over and said "good morning, sweet guy"...and when the torties saw him...SHEER PANIC! Annie hit her head on the headboard when she leapt for safety...and Smudge fell off the bed scrambling backward. Binks looked over at me with that toothy little grin...ignored them completely...and majestically stepped down and headed for the test rug! I havent laughed this hard in the morning since i had a mirror on my dresser!
4 p's thus far for my funny little guy...with "Payback for my mouse buddy" thrown into the mix...
