Well, Wendy was right to suggest I may want to wait 8 full cycles for Uncle's dosecrease.
The eight cycle was a breakthrough and Uncle went from PMPS 216 to 58 and stayed at the lagoon for a nice long while.
This morning he is very lethargic, not sure if it's from all the poking and meals throughout the night or if the BG roller coaster takes it out of him

Will do. I am religious about +2. I have changed my whole work & sleep schedule for them!
I wouldn't say it was crucial today, but may be interesting from a data point of view and give you some indication of how you judged the food last night.

I liked my +2.... and +3 and my +.......LOL you get the picture.

But seriously, I found the +2 very helpful. Especially if I had to nip out at some point in the day.

Is there a compiled list of medications that are potentially risky for cats on this site or anywhere else easily accessable?
I need to get Uncle's teeth cleaned soon and I want to be prepared with list of NoNo's for the vet.
It's sad thateven though I trust the current vet, she is relatively new to me and I am nervous
My previous vet retired after many years of care for my animals, 2 decades really

The two you hear the most about are Convenia and Metacam. Convenia is an antibiotic given by injection and stays in the body for weeks, so if a cat has a bad reaction to it, there is nothing you can do but wait it out. Metacam is a pain med with a black box warning for cats. It can cause kidney damage. I would specify not to give either of those.

Glad Uncle listened to me and isn't swinging from the rafters today! :p Still, no need to go so high, buddy. Come on down - slowly and gently, please!;)

Cool, thanks. I knew about the Metacam, my big dog Carlos (13) was taking it because he has a ruptured disk in is back but I keep it well away from any feline. I feel like I've read tangentially on the board that are certain anti-biotics that are preferred over others

Just about to get a +6 to see how the little guy is doing

134 at +6
didn't see that coming from his +2 number
I know he's safe and this is his normal nadir
It's time for food, any suggestions regarding carb content or testing interval greatly appreciated

He's looking pretty good today!!

Uncle....let's get that bouncing out of the way and back down to those pretty green numbers we all love so much!!

No reason to race back higher by PMPS either buddy!!....How about we start out in a nice shade of blue??

I let it play out, so didn't give him any food between +6 and PMPS
Hopefully he doesn't drop on me tonight again, I only got 4 hours of sleep

Wow, you had a long one last night!!! Let's see what he does in a while!

I toooootally know what you mean! Uncle had a nice, smooth day. So I'm hoping he makes it nice and easy for you tonight!
Well, not huge drop but a drop non-the-less from PMPS which always means I need to stay vigilant. Going to give him some slightly bumped up raw now and think about when I should test again.

Looking good Uncle:cat:, it doesn't look like he is going to be as dramatic about his surfing as last night.

(PS this message will self destruct, don't want him reading this;):p)
