We got Sunny's bloodwork results back this morning and he is improved! His liver and kidney values have normalized :cat: but his fPL (pancreatitis) has gone up - so she wants to reduce his budesonide to every other day and recheck him in 6 weeks. He seems to be feeling much better. Hopefully this decrease in his steroids will help bring down his BG numbers too.
He's eating only rabbit (RAWZ rabbit and pumpkin) and Instinct Rabbit that includes some pork which he seems to be handling fine so far.

One point about the fPL number: I did not fast Sunny for his bloodwork because I didn't realize he needed to be fasted - my understanding is that this could cause the fPL to appear higher than it actually is. How does one fast a diabetic cat for bloodwork?

When I needed to get blood work done for Neko, I scheduled it for end of day, not long before PMPS. That would ensure the longest period of time without food. For most bloodwork, you don't need to fast a diabetic cat. When the clinic called to remind me of the appointment and blood work and fasting, I would remind them she was diabetic and to ask the vet. Who would usually waive the fasting requirement. Idexx says fasting is preferred, but not required for the Spec fPL.

Good to hear Sunny's other blood values have improved. :)
