Good morning

I changed things up a little this morning to see what her numbers do today.

First off she woke me up banging cabinet doors at 3 am, I wasn't about to get up and give her food at that time, plus I wanted fresh numbers before food.
I managed to get her to come to bed and snuggle in with me, she stayed there until I woke up at 7:00 am.

I did her AMBG test and she was at 70, then gave her some food, still seems alert and active more so than she has been before the numbers started changing.

Great start to Day 8

Re: 1/6/ Sassy Day 8 trial - AMBG 70, +6 78

She seems in good spirits and has eaten well already today.

Her +6 number is 78, so I think we are holding strong.

? - One thing I did notice is that she went to eat earlier and she needs to jumps up on the bathtub to get to her food, she didn't want to jump, she was trying to find a way to pull herself up.
I lifted her up and she gave me a painful meow, not sure what is happening with the back end but she seems to be in pain.

I can't afford to take her to the vet right now either, I have also noticed that the lump in her throat is larger, the vet had tested her thyroid and said everything was fine, so what could that be.
I have tried to do research to come up with possibilities but no luck pin pointing the exact issue.

Any advice?

Melissa

Her numbers have been really great today.

Her PMBG number is 68, couldn't ask for better numbers.

Another test before bedtime, and we can call it a perfectly green day hopefully.

i don't have any idea about the pain or throat. if you put the topic in the subject line people with experience in that will come and offer any thoughts they have. i do know that pain can drive up blood sugar, but obviously, sassy's handling it. most of the time we see little evidence of pain in cats, so if you are seeing it, it's likely pretty bad.

punkin had acromegaly, which accelerates arthritis, and he was a perfect little snuggler before it got bad. then he stopped wanting to be held - i think it hurt him. we kept him on bupe constantly trying to deal with it, but really never resolved it.

i do think it's worth trying to figure out why she's hurting, though.

congrats on day 8 of your OTJ Trial! WOOT!
