Hi LL!

Eddie had some pretty good cycles yesterday. He was super snuggly in the PM, and spent most of the evening on my lap.

He started to head up fairly early last night at a pretty rapid pace (+6/86, +7/103, +8/118...), so I figured he'd be in the high 100's by morning again. Around +7 or +8, Eddie was wandering around in the kitchen looking for food, including on the cupboard (which he never does). I gave in and fed him a tiny bit of 3% Fancy Feast in the hopes of keeping him from scrounging around in the kitchen. Figured it couldn't really hurt anything since he was already headed up pretty fast....and then...

97 at AMPS this morning! :D DH thought he'd be home from work early around +4, but didn't get home until after AM +6 so I don't know if Eddie surfed or dropped this morning. Hopefully he surfed. Not sure whether he had a pretty good double dip or whether the +8 food did help pull him down for AMPS. Is there a way to tell a double dip from food bringing kitty down?? I have inconsistently fed a small later snack just to see what would happen, and sometimes it seems like his numbers hold flat, or he goes down, but other times, he bounces regardless. In contrast, this afternoon, for example, I had DH feed a small snack at +8 again, and he jumped right up at +9. That said, he did come back down a little at +10 and +11.

Tonight, he started with a decent PMPS, but had a pretty sizable +1 spike which I suspect is a bit of a bounce. He's slowly sliding down. Eddie's currently stretched across my legs while we're watching movies. :cat:

It sounds as though tomorrow is supposed to be the coldest day of the week. Most metro schools are closed due to the cold, and wind chill temps are expected to be in the -30 to -45 range.

Have a good evening everyone!

Oh snuggly Eddie. None of my current crew snuggles much. Not even the dog. I'll probably have to buy a teddy bear or something.

Cold! When I taught in Wisconsin temps under -20 usually closed schools. Lots of buses. Diesel fuel gels at those way cold temps and stranded buses in that weather isn't a real good idea. (I'd light a fire in the fireplace and stay up late on those nights knowing I could stay curled under the blankets 'til well after dawn the next day. Kinda liked it!)

Eddie. Nice numbers. But try to make this all a little bit easier for the beans.

Nice cycles for Eddie. His mini bounces aren't bad at all. I think Max is starting to copy Eddie. He's a good role model. :)

Great cycles today! He seems to be holding steady....

I know a few districts have closed tomorrow but haven't heard about St. Paul schools yet....

Oh how you gotta love these MN winters lol

Hi Marilyn, Elise and Molly! Thanks for visiting!

Marilyn - with the crew you have, at least one of them ought to be a snuggle-butt! I have a "unique" snuggly foster kitty named Blueberry I can loan you! ;)

Elise - Max and Eddie do seem to follow each others' lead at times. Hopefully they both keep up the nice blue and green spreadsheets, and they both continue to go down in dose! :D

I know I read Hennepin/Anoka schools, but I hadn't seen St. Paul yet either. Too bad school closures don't mean that I'm off the hook for work....

I love having a cat stretched along my lap. Neko used to be great at that. She's so long she'd almost reach down to my ankles. She still sometimes does a DH lap, but her arthritis limits her getting up. Perfect way to keep warm when it's sooooo cold outside. Brrr.

Nice cycle Eddie - keep it up. :D I'd just keep experimenting or not with the snack and see if it's a double dip or causing Mr. P to spring into action.

Oh, you just answered my question. Blueberry is still a foster. ;)

Hi Wendy! Thanks for your visit! Eddie's a couch hog. Right now, I'm sitting cross-legged on one cushion, while Eddie's stretched out across the other two. He complains every time I get up and disturb him.

Blueberry is still a foster. ;)

Yes, yes he is.

He's been with us for over a year and a half. He was adopted and returned around Christmas last year. That's the longest we've ever had a foster kitty in our care (although we adopted another one after she'd been with us for just over a year). We are possibly looking at buying a house in the next couple months, which means more room for "permanent" pets, so if that does in fact work out, I suspect Blueberry will have his forever home. :joyful:
