The absence of a food spike on that +1.5, would usually indicate an active cycle.

Have you got another test in?? I'd grab one now if you haven't, must be around +3.5 for you.

That said when we shoot low, like you did this morning they can often have much flatter cycles. His numbers are looking great. But just watch for him telling you he wants a reduction.

Very Nice :D

Seems he's found his green trunks and surf board and is enjoying the surf.

Wow. A reduction would put him at almost nothing! I already feel when I give the shot that nothing is going in!:)

Lets just wait and see where he goes with these numbers.

I like how his AMPS has come down into low blues. It would be nice to see some green PS.

I know that yesterday and the day before he got some food late on in the am cycle, (after +7)
I am guessing that he doesn't usually get food that late in the pm cycle.

Do you think that today, you could aim not to give him anything past the +6/+7 mark??
If he is really hungry and looks like he is going to chew your arm off then maybe a zero carb snack, like some plain boiled chicken breast (please note deli meats often have added sugars, I found out the hard way:rolleyes::oops:)
I am wondering if his higher pmps the last couple of days has been related to him getting food late in the cycle and this is putting the brakes on the insulin action, causing the numbers to rise for pmps. When we start off with a higher PS they often dive more dramatically than when they start of on a low PS. Obtain a flat lantus curve is the aim, spending as much time as possible in the healthy healing greens.

Have you seen the post on microdosing?? You may want to practice drawing 0.1 with some coloured liquid and a used up syringe.

I feel that I am lucky and caught it quickly. I know I am lucky because I found this forum. I would be lost and who knows where Mango would be. Thank you for all your help!
Ditto we are all lucky to have found like minded souls.

I did a bg check using his paw and it was 59. I didn't like that so I tried his ear and it was 64. I am going with the ear. the paw is always 5 points lower than the ear.

Wow. A reduction would put him at almost nothing!

When I gave Quintus his "0.1" (plunger flush to the "0" line on the syringe) I honestly thought it would not do anything. But it did, sent him right to the sharks, where he'd obviously got used to hanging out! There is still room for reduction under 0.25 ;-)

(And if I recall he wasn't that high with 0, so... and was very recently diagnosed, right?)

Yep, only high when on dry food. After I switched his bg went down. You can see on last years spreadsheet and tell when he started on canned food.

Could be a bounce, we will see soon, but most likely it’s loss of duration, yes, the shot can wear off early. Just because it does today or tomorrow or on this dose doesn’t mean it will always. Sometimes food puts the breaks on insulin (which is why some people don’t feed past nadir), sometimes it’s a thing or a combination of things we have little control over like absorption, or where the shot went, or maybe Mango was lazier today where usually he exercised a bit more in these hours. It’s almost impossible to know, but it happens and it doesn’t mean it will always happen. There are things to be done to tweak duration issues should it become a regular thing.
