1/5 Mikan AMPS 74, +2 48, +2.5 69, +3 58, +7.5 107, +8 129: PMPS 372, +2 249, +4.5 170

Happy Green Friday!!
Good morning, Angela.
Mikan pulled 48 at +2. I am thinking of going for the "3 40s on 3 different day" criterion for a reduction at this point because A) she is almost out of her rookie year (DX 01/15/23) and B) she has failed multiple reduction in the past. Would you say this is reasonable? @Angela & Cleo - I would appreciate your input!

Whoa, Kit!! Bet your hands were shaking on that amps!! Wishing you and Mikan a very safe surf today! :D:D
Happy Furiday :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hi Staci,
My hands were totally shaking!
She went down to 48 but were acting well and peppy! Fed her some 14% extra gravy to get her up a bit.
Hope she can stay in the dark green for a bit longer!
You and Ivy have a great day too!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm inclined to agree and very sound reasoning in my opinion. Let's get her up and over 50, see what it takes to keep her there (HC/MC/LC) the rest of this cycle.

Thank you Angela!
She ate some 14% at +2 and went back up to 69 at +2.5. I'll test her at +3 and see.
As always, I really appreciate your feedback :bighug:
Stay in those dark greens, pretty girl. Think about spinach, kale, healthy dark, leafy greens. Remember, we hate limes. No margaritas for kitties. Be safe. I’m holding you both in my heart for a very safe surf, Kit & Mikan :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Alicia,
Ya, happy to see but honestly, I'm so used to much higher preshots that my heart quickens when I see anything below 150
So that's what I want, right? yet, I get a little panicky. Kinda pathetic, isn't it! Breathe, breathe.
I hope I get the opportunity to get used to it ;)

Also - absolutely not pathetic! And that little panicky bit means you're paying attention at a time when she's possibly gonna drop low and you're gonna be able to react better because you're making sure you're prepared. I feel like I should maybe get at least a little panicky than I do at times. I noticed (pre UTI) that I wasn't really having that reaction unless she dropped below, like, 55? And I wasn't maybe as panicked when she dropped below 50 that maybe I should be? I also don't know how much of that is because I deal with stress and (maybe a little too often) panicky situations at work, so my actual response doesn't seem like a normal panicked response because I can't necessarily show that as the person in charge at work? That all may be too much psychology for this early in the morning! :joyful::bighug:

What a beautiful number to wake up to.
Mikan has been doing so wonderful. I'm so excited and happy for you. I know that feeling well once they start showing you those greens in the pre-shots.
Great way to start your weekend and no scuba diving please. Surf safely sweet Mikan.

Hi Alicia,
You have a stronger distress tolerance! Panic or not, we have to deal with whatever we have to deal with, so just as well, not panic and be cool!
Hahaha, easy to say, right? My panic threshold has gotten lower over time - so I can tolerate lower numbers a bit better than used to.
At this rate, Mikan is training me so well that I would end up with a titanium heart! :p

Hi Karolina,
Mikan's been eying on the scuba diving gears. So far, we are keep her afloat with 14% gravy.
Hope she can keep up and please please please no trampoline!
Happy Friday to you, Nestle and Peanut! :bighug:

Oh my, Mikan, get out of the fast lane girlie! Give mom a break...no limes please!
Hope you have a safe rest of the day and a peaceful and happy weekend! :bighug:
Hi Christine,
Mikan just goes when she gets into that mode, leaving this poor momma in the dust :rolleyes::rolleyes:
I'm barely staying with her. Hope she can steady - now that it's past +7, I'm hoping she can mellow out.
Of course, then, I worry about her finding the darn trampoline!
Hope you are having a great Friday! :bighug:

Such a great cycle for today! :D Stay safe now, Mikan.
Thanks Cecile!
It has been a bit nerve wrecking to teeter around the green-lime boarder :p
I'm hoping that she can now steady herself enough to give me confidence that we can stay on this dose.
She's been doing so well with 3.5U and I would love to stay on, but if she still wobbles around, I'll have to re-evaluate

That 107 should make you breathe  it's so nerve-wrecking! You are right.

Sorry @Angela & Cleo. I was testing but couldn't update while I was in the zoom meeting. Holding on at 50 with 14% gravy (extra gravy Friskies: just licking gravy, not really eating the meaty stuff) at +4 and +6.
Looking at SS, what's the chance of getting 50 3 times in a row?

No worries - you need to earn money to keep Mikan in the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed :p:rolleyes::)

Based on her history, today's cycle and how you've been feeding higher end MC to keep her barely at 50, I would take the reduction tonight as she's still in the newly diabetic (under 1 year) window.

You are right. I was hoping against hope to keep here at this dose as she was doing so well with it.
But I'll take a reduction tonight at 3.25U. I can always come back up!
Thank you for your sound advice! :bighug:

She might sky rocket but that's OK! She's been giving colorful bookends anyway o_O.
I understand wanting to keep her on a dose and had her regular LC kept her over 50 I would hold but because of all the higher end MC you had to feed to keep her over 50, take the reduction as earned. :bighug:

I suspect that even if she's high at PMPS, she won't stay there long ;)

You are right again, Angela!
She's 218 at +8, going up and up now.
And thanks for the explanation on the reduction vs. hold based on how BGs were maintained. Makes sense.
I'm almost afraid of PMPS - haha, afraid of too low and afraid of going up high. My goodness, the world is becoming a scary place :p
I hope she does well with the reduction!
Thanks again, Angela for your kind guidance! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good morning, Shelly.
It was a special gift! But then, she went down to 48 - but I'm hoping to keep the dose.
It's ever so close to 50 and she has a history of not doing well with the reduction.
I am hoping to push as much as I can without getting too risky!
I see that now. She did go some scuba dooba.
I think you're thinking about 3 lows before a reduction is a good one :bighug::bighug:

Trampoline time!
I pulled Callas myself to let soprano notes out when I saw PMPS :arghh:
Mikan really had the best week. Let's see if she can keep at it!
Better safe Kit. I agree with Angela. You can always go back up again. We don’t want any problems for this pretty girl. Let’s give your heart. Rest while the depot drains a bit. You need a big hug and here it comes :bighug::bighug::bighug:
You did great today!! So proud of you xoxo. Now safe surfing tonight

Thanks Staci!
I was so wiped out yesterday that even the dinner was a blur. And I slept like a bear between +2 and +4.5, tested her, and went right to bed.
You are right. Safety first. I hope she does well with this reduction, or.... I would be ready to go back up! :):):);)
