Leo eats when I offer it. Actually, it's always available, but sometimes I have to deliberately put him in front of the food bowl, and sometimes I add warm water to further encourage him.

Still haven't decided what to do with the broken crown.... the biologic dentist I saw a few years ago to remove three root canals is hours away... but I invariably chickened out. Now I have a real decision to make.

I like it ;). Don’t test too quickly since it takes approx. 20-30 minutes for the carbs to hit the blood stream.

ETA: in other words you won’t be able to see the effects of your carb intervention until around that time.

I only gave a tsp.... seems I've always tested 15-20 min later. But this gives a chance to eat +

Yes, that’s the general guideline for handling lower numbers. But it also depends on how carb sensitive your cat is, and I wouldn’t want you to test sooner than 15-20 minutes in any case.

I liked your combo, looks like it got him over 50 nicely, I’d go with that again and see if that gets him surfing. How he’s feeling? Maybe enjoying his time in the lagoon? :D:D

I didn't have to retrieve him at +3 for the test ... he was heading my way! Forgot to mention the HC was in his LC bowl, and he probably got a few bites of that. I usually use a smaller/separate bowl.

Leo is just chilling by himself. We finally finished our dinner. It's already almost 10:30. Where did the time go?

Flat is good :D, this is one reason why I try a couple of bites vs. just one teaspoon, with some cats 1 teaspoon is good, but for some, getting a little extra snack helps. It is an ECID thing. Hoping the surf continues.

Leo is working it tonight... :D:D:D I've been watching Joni and Christie working together this last week or so and I just have to say it is amazing teamwork.

Nice work you two, really a great example of the magic of FDMB!

Yes, indeed!
I must say there have been three times when Leo would not eat for 24 hours that I thought I could lose him. I'm very grateful for all the help and encouragement from Christie and many others!

I would feel better if I could let him have some more HC or whatever is needed. Or do I need to stay up longer or set an alarm?

Oops, sorry Jason! I forgot I was replying to your post.

@La-La Leo - can you post more photos of Leo tomorrow when you get a chance.... he might be the most handsome cat on here. Just saying! :p

I have some of our kitties on a Pics sheet of an old SS. Leo's kitty friend, Andy, looks a little like your Kona. ♡♡♡ The gray kitty, Isaiah, is Andy's brother from the same litter. When my step-sister had to give up Isaiah, we took him in and he was with us for over four years. Our daughter got married late 2022, and Isaiah went to her home, 1/14/23. Leo & Isaiah played together real well.

I LOVE photos of the babies, I could look all day!

Is Leo still low? Time to test? That 20% has got to bump him up...
