Yesterday
Shadow has 4 Ps already for today! He is his usual happy self, greeting me in the bathroom and purring his song. The pair of them didn't eat so much at +7 last night so I took up the bowls. Nights like that make me feel that they think I get up for my own sake and not specifically to give them food. Oh well. Not the first time my intentions have been misunderstood! :lol:
OT: As I mentioned last night, there was a cancellation at the Endocrinologist's and instead of March 9th, I am going in today at 3:30pm!! The thought of having to wait two more months was very depressing, so I can be hopeful now. Any spare vines you have would be appreciated today....although others have more pressing needs of them, I know their strength and know how much they help. Ya know, I don't even remember what it's like to feel normal. This shaking has been going on for so long. I am so thankful to be going in today....fingers and toes crossed! :razz: Happy Tuesday to you all! :YMHUG:

Good Morning Pat & Shadow boy! I'm sending lots of vines and positive thoughts for a good doctor's visit today and a diagnosis as to the symptoms you're experiencing. My bp always goes up every time I have a medical visit. Breathe and stay calm, yeah right, easier said than done!

Ordinarily, I'd push to see Shadow's numbers drop. If those numbers are going to come back down, how about slooooowly so there are no worries when you're at the endocrinologist's office? I'm so glad yo are able to get in sooner. Good luck with the visit and sending lots of vines and good thoughts.

Pat, I am very very happy, that you're able to see the endo doc sooner than you expected. Sending prayers for a good diagnosis, good prognosis, and simple answer to T problem. Healing prayers on the way.
Shadow is giving you safe numbers, so you don't have to worry while you're gone.
Hear that, Shadow, no diving today!

Sorry about the pink AMPS, I hope Shadow comes down nice and slow for you today.

YAY!!!! flip_cat on the cancellation so you get in to the endocrinologist today instead of in March!!! Tons of vines and positive thoughts for you, Pat! You've been feeling lousy for so long, I hope that the visit will yield some relief for you very soon!!! I'm very happy, you deserve this lucky break so much!

Thank you all so very much for your kind thoughts...I guess i will be feeling this way for a little while longer though...
first, I will talk about Shadow and how he will get a dosecrease in the morning....

AMPS=369 ~F2.25u Lev
+4=456
+6=422
PMPS=392 ~F2.25u Lev (4th cycle)

OT: Exam by Endocrinoligist. He said I will need some blood workup first to determine if I have Grave's Disease, Toxic multinodular goiter or Plummer's Disease. I am also to have a fine needle aspiration of one cold nodule along with sonogram by radiologist. He said he would bet a nickel that I have Grave's but he has to make sure with the blood tests.
I had tests for TSH and T4 previously, but they did not test for thyroid antibodies.
So, no meds for now.
He told me that my options are the Tapizole which he said does not change the condition in a majority of people, surgery to remove part or all of the thyroid and the radioactive iodine pill that destroys the entire thyroid. The radioactive iodine pill will leave a hypo thyroid condition for which a pill for life is needed but the hypo thyroid is apparently easier to control than the hyper.
Of course, the above choices would change if the aspiration of the cold nodule shows other than benign cells. He agreed with the surgeon that the likelihood of this being one of the 4 types of thyroid cancers is very slim.
I feel better that I was able to go in, but came away with nothing for my symptoms yet......in time, when the tests are over, he will prescribe some beta blockers which should help for awhile. At least he gave me a note to excuse me from jury duty on Jan 18! :lol: Did I forget to mention that little tidbit to you before? Well, I guess I don't have to go this time.... Well, no jury duty is a little something good that came out of today. :roll:
I hope all those tests that you need will be done quickly so you can move forward toward a solution.

All of this waiting has to be very hard on you. They should prescribe a mood enhancer so you can be all mellow while you wait for progress.

Yes, I think Shadow needs a little boost to get him back on track. .... So now that we said that he will probably do something wacky and drop low.

Nothing is ever simple, is it! Well, at least you know more now than you did before. I sure hope you can get those tests done quickly so that you can proceed with a treatment. Aren't you glad that you didn't have to wait until March to learn what the possibilities are and then to have to have the tests done?
Anyway, no jury duty is certainly a plus!!!!!

Oh boy, what some people will do to get out of jury duty!!! I'm just kidding Pat; I'm trying to make you smile. Seriously, I'm so glad you got in to see the Specialist and have started some testing. Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent your way, hugs, too!
