Yesterday was another Slide day from what has got to be one of the worst amps I have had in a very long time... Mannie recovered nicely, but it really makes me wonder why it was there in the first place. :? His appy issues continue too. I have ceased putting any meds etc in his fuds. He has become very attuned to whether or not they are there, and If he senses, smells them, tastes them then all eating stops. Stopped the probiotic too, same reason. The first meal of the day usually goes well, but any mini meals after that are touch and go - depends alot on what I offer. Well things to discuss with his cardio vet on Monday, and if that is of no resolve then perhaps it is time for a vetty visit for all the basics. I need to have a repeat urinalysis done anyways to make sure the UTI is really over with.... ok Mannie, another new day! let's run for it, 'K? Think blue, think green, 'K? All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D At least in his opinion all is well in MannieLand. We had more sunshine yesterday, much to The Nanner Kings delight. SUNBEAMS rule! He managed to find them all, making sure the path was DGS free before doing so. :lol: :lol: Mannie and DGS had their usual greetings, but not too much more after that. DGS is still fighting his cold, and although the SPEED RACER still showed up yesterday he was a subdued SPEED RACER. That met with Mannie's approval. Nicholas checked on Mannie a couple of times, making sure all the nanners were in the right places, and to see Mannie sleep. It is kinda cute: "Man-NIE! Sleeping" repeat a thousand times. :lol: :lol: This morning we had a great test, feed and shoot and clean plate club (with alot of encouragement), purrs and lots of cuddles. Normalcy in MannieLand. :cool:

Have a great day everyone. I am back on DGS duty today, and more than likely it will be a swim day for Nicholas. ( I hope - once I see how his cold is) I am not too sure at this point if that will be doable or not. One nice thing about the pool, even though one is wet, it is a warm wet, and so different than being our in the cold air.... better for colds. He did fairly well yesterday, but was really tired after our outing. I will try and get to condos when I can, but probably not until late in the evening. There is just no time when he is here.. I will miss you guys - and your furkids. Think blue think green kitties!

Hey everybody! What's up?!?!?!!? I thinks we need to spend some time at the dunes... I miss the dune buggy's! Hey Tess - sunny at the dunes? Please say yes!!! Maybe we can grill and have a bonfire or sumthin' too, and some hang gliding along with all that dune sliding. You guys in? Let me know - I am ready for anything!!~~ Mannie

And completely OT: Here are some photos from DGS's and my adventures yesterday: Aquarium!. He was still fighting his cold, so it just seemed like a better place for him to be: warm and indoors, rather than out in the 35 degree temps we had, even though it was sunny. The warm kept both our coughs at bay. :-D He had a ton of fun nonetheless. He was pretty tired afterwards so I let him take a very long nap He was beat. Mannie...time to come down, stay down, and help MamaBean out by taking those meds! I know...most kitties are just way too smart when it comes to trying to hide those meds in fuds....I really wish we could speak the same language!

Morning Michelle, so sorry about Mannie's appy issues and not eating if placed in the food. I hope he comes down to a nice cycle today. I hope the cardio Vet will have some answers and if not, maybe time for a Vetty wellness visit. Sending some appy vines for our favorite little Barista. Mannie, mega thanks on the 10 hour coffee and Double Espressos today. Neat pics of the Acquariun, how fun for DGS! Have a great time with him today and hope he's feeling better and you, too.

Mannie, the dunes sounds great fun for today. We need some fun and sun. I'll bring some fixins for turkey burgers. See ya at the curb, Mags

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) I so agree - so for now the meds come after, and down the gullet they go: manual insertion. He doesn't like it, but at least this way the appy is a little better. Yupp - they are way too smart for us! :lol:

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on Mannie. Smart Mannie - no way in the fuds for him, which is really a shame, as that worked so well in the beginning. It was the addition of the BP meds that clinched the deal. The pills are bitter, and I am sure this does not sit well with him at all. Well, we will see what the cardio dude says on Monday. THX on the pics - Nicholas LOVES that place - he had such fun there yesterday. One very happy young boy. THX on us feeling better - i do some, sure hope Nicholas does too.

Those are great pictures from the aquarium. I hope you and Nicholas have great fun today!! Last year we got to the Monterey Aquarium and it boggles the mind to see all those beautiful fish and underwater creatures.

OOOOHHH Mannie... such a wonderful mocha today! it is sooooo yummy in the tummy. Come on down sweet barista.. no more licking your fingers when you make those mochas.
Mannie, i gots chicky and tuna for the grill then long sticks and marshmallows to roast and kites to fly over the dunes ..on my way BRING ON THE FUN...oliver

Hi guys .. mannie, what's up with these morning numbers? You getting all crazy at night raiding the HC food cupboard? Aren't cat's so in tune with what "sneaky" things we try to do to them? Just like going to the vet's .. seems they know something is up no matter what .. I hope Nicholas's cold is getting better .. Have a great weekend guys!

Hi Michelle. Boy, ya can't mess with a guy's food, ya know :lol: . I can't sneak any meds in Checks food either. He doesn't trust anything after that.
Wouldn't it be great if we could just make them understand!

Michelle, I know you must get tired of hearing me say this, but I sooo admire your attitude, when this dance isn't going the way you'd like. :smile: I'm trying to train myself to stop whining about it. Do you give life lessons? :roll:

Morning Michelle & Mannie glad the amps is down but the red floor is unacceptable too big guy! Nice to see him come down to pink. Sorry about the appy issues that sucks, he says no more meds Mom or I refuse to eat lol. Darn another trip to the vet? Mannie will not be happy! Hope things improve Michelle paws crossed and hope you are feeling better! Have a happy Fursday & enjoy your time with DGS!

DGS and I went to the pool, he really did ask, so off we went. he did well, but as with most colds it has left him on the tired side, so we only stayed about an hour, until he asked to go home. He did have a ton of fun while there - lids loves the water!

I just do not as a rule get sick, ever... this has been more than annoying! :lol: THX too on the pics - it is such a fun place to take Nicholas - he loves it there. I just don't know how else to handle all this - worries me sick sometimes, but i just keep doing the best I can to make sure he sees my happy side, my "I still lubs ya Mannie no matter what floor you're on, or what issue we are now dealing with" .... you are too kind on the life lessons... :-D and thx on DGS - off tot eh pool - he ad Fun, but was ever so tired, told me when it was time to go home - he's still dealing with fatigue issues from his cold.

Yupp could be on the vet - I do need to get his BP checked, and then we shall see. Gotta do the urinalysis too, for the UTI resolutions... fun - he will not be pleased. :shock: :roll: THX: DGS and I are slowly getting better. YAHOO!

I wonder if the appy issues could have to do with upset tummy or something like that and if giving him some pepcid might help?

and what a stinker that he knows when you put something "extra" in the food and refuses to eat it. what about syringing the meds instead?

ooooh and Mannie - I so love your barista options and how the coffee and tea infusions follow the same theme each day. It sounds so yummy. Maybe tomorrow can be a special chocolate mint lattes and teas....doesn't that sound divine.....

I can't go home covered in sand or my bean will want to know what I was doing all day. Hi Hillary - the thought has crossed my mind. on the pepcid. now to make sure what I have i still good. :lol: There is aot of variables with Mannie, and I keep thinking too of the bout with Giardia he has last summer - I have read in a few places that the appy issue with that can linger for a long time after eradication. Could be he's not over the UTI... anyways... could be that the heart eds are upsetting his tummy, as his main appy stuff occurs an hour or two after he's been given those. I will be taking him up to the vet tomorrow, for lab work, and to get urinalysis to check on the UTI stuff. He has a cardio BRP check with his cardio man on Monday too. Poor Mannie - vetty visits!

I dunno on the sand removal. hmmmmm..... we could vacuum it out. :shock: or a comb! or a water bath, or..... I dunno. I just do a shake shake shake and it kinda falls off, ya know? 274@ PMPS. YAY - down some from Mannie's +9. Appy was good, with a new food, but the little bugger spit out his pill 5 times! And this was by manual insertion. So much for my down the gullet technique. :lol: :lol:

Do you use a piller? It's a long tubular thing that holds the pill in the blue rubber tip, then you stick it to the back of the mouth and push the pill out with the other end. Nice yellow, Mannie. :-D

Hi guys,

Sounds like you had a really busy day, Michelle. Mannie, that espresso was just what I needed to give me energy for my ski today. THANK YOU! I hope that all Mannie's "issues" can get straightened out tomorrow and next week with the vetty visits. He won't like to go to see the vettybean, but sometimes you just have to do it.

Now that the weekend is here you'll be able to ditch that cold, Michelle. Get lots of rest after the vetty visit. Sending healing vines to you and Nicholas. He's had his cold a long time, too. It must be some cold!

Sending along some good vetty vines tomorrow. I hope you can get to the bottom of the appy issues. At least he ate tonight. The piller Liz suggests is a good tool, followed by a quick squirt of water and that usually makes them swallow. It's still a chore if it's every day so would be nice to get an "in the food" option.

I'm jealous of your nice yellow start. Way to go Mannie, how about a nice easy slide down to blue tonight?
 
Hi Liz - no, I don't have one. Maybe I should get one now that I have this daily give the pills thing going on. I've always been able to get them in him before without, but that was not at this frequency. Thanks for the link!

Hi Ella - THX me too - At least we will run labs to rule out some things. heart guy on monday. yeah, he won't be too happy, but hopefully he will "grin and bear it". :lol: THX on the cold stuff - I hope son too. Off to a better start this morning. yep, this cold going arounf is really a nasty one.... I too hope DGS is better, I think he will be. He too can sleep in this weekend.
