Well, my day took off and Jetta never got her condo until now. What a day. And poor Jetta. She's truly miserable in these high numbers. She's hiding in the closet right now. I guess we're bouncing from yesterday. I'm really considering a dosecrease. Our spreadsheet is WAY too pink and red. No food trials today. I fed LC all day since I knew she wouldn't be clearing the bounce.

Here's a link to Miss Pretty in Pink (her newest nickname) This was the only pet sweater I could find that fit her well and it should give her scabs a chance to heal. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/7LzcOl2f3mGGX8Cw_BwxLbUAVkK8YJx2LOW-cvlBFdo?feat=directlink I wish I could add the photo here instead of linking but I can't ever get it to work

Aw, she looks adorable...but I'm missing something. Why does poor Jetta have scabs? BTW, Patty was having trouble postin a pic of Champ ealier, apparently because it was too big. Maybe try resizing Jetta's Pretty in Pink picture....

I'm sorry she's feeling icky...I don't know what to tell you on dose - maybe pose a question so some of the more experienced eyes can weigh in???

This one is dedicated to Jetta:
Pretty in Pink

Have a great night...and please come down, Miss J!

Hi Amy- thanks, poor Jetta. SHe breaks my heart up there on that floor. Her scabs are where she's been getting her injections. It seems she's sensitive to the acids in the Lantus. I've been really diligent about wiping the needle off after it comes out of the vial before I shoot and that seems to be helping her not get any new irritations.

Re: 1/4 Jetta PMPS 431 and a Pic

If she's reacting to the acidic nature of Lantus, why don't you consider switching to Lev? Lev is not acidic, it's a long acting insulin like Lantus, has a shed, etc.

And it does look like she's bouncing.

Hi Sienne, I've been giving A LOT of thought to switching to Lev. Doesn't it also tend to help the diver/bouncy kitties like Jetta stay on a flatter curve? I'm not sure what all I need to take into consideration before deciding to switch.

And I should say I don't know for sure it's the acidic nature of Lantus causing the sores/scabs but they are in our shoot area and she never had them before FD, so 2+2=4 in my book but it's just my suspicion...

I didn't know Jetta was having a scabbing problem with her injection sites. Poor girl.

Of course Marje would be a good one to chat with about switching, since she did that with diving/bouncing queen Gracie. She may be able to offer you some insight that will help you with making a decision.

Have a great night, guys!

Oh, Jetta, how cute you are in that stinky pinky sweater! Almost yellow, I hope you find that floor tonight at least. Wow, Jac, that is good thinking to figure out the source of her sores. You are such a good bean. Remember, more petting and less worry. :-D
