Hi Laura, I know exactly what you’re saying. The first time I read it I was completely overwhelmed and confused by the whole thing, and I walked away from it, but at some point, Marje convinced me to reread it, and she was able to guide me quite easily to using them. And now that I do, it’s actually quite simple. It’s just a calculation based on the dose. You don’t even use multiple syringes at all.
Basically what I do is take the dose that I want to give say that is 3 units and multiply by 1.32 mm (which is the measurement for Relion syringes) and that gives me a measurement of 3.96 mm on the calipers.
I then go to the calipers, zero it out, and then set the calipers to 3.96 mm digitally and then every time I turn the calipers on the arms are set there and I just line the arms up against the syringe and that’s my dose.
I hope that makes sense, but take a look at the post and see if you can find your syringes listed in the post (which makes it very easy to figure out the calculation).
