MONDAY! MONDAY! MONDAY! Welcome to Monday LL! Sending our usual healing vines to Rocket and Sooty. We're so glad Sooty is doing so well and now it's time for Rocket to turn the corner and start getting better.

WCR: 3Ps in place. It's rainy and cold here today (well, for Tucson) and all cats are curled up in warm places. For some reason, the method for controlling fast dives that we've used with Gracie for the last month is now not working; before, it would just slow the dive and then she'd come down at a better rate. Now, it's stopping her cold and sending her back up although she surfed blue long enough last night that her urine test this morning was negative for sugar. This gives me a good idea of where her renal threshold is and it must be higher than 265 or she hasn't been in yellow long enough for it to spill sugar in her urine. She's had breffis 1 and 2 with Tobey's company at both looking at us with his big bush baby eyes as if he hadn't eaten in a week :lol: :lol: They are such great pals and it's been amazing to us that we were able to find the perfect kitten for her....oh, yeah, and for us. :lol: :lol:

Working from home today so I have a little extra time to do condos. It's supposed to get very cold this week...in the 20s at night so Mike and I will be out later today covering plants :evil: Have a wonderful day!!!!!

I BELIEVE that the renal threshold varies from cat to cat but is in General, from about 250-270
I will look in the literature agan for more info.--But Gracie was almost green last night with a 115, so perhaps this is just a blip? You did feed karo at +2.5-
Maybe try with LC food instead?? You know your cat & what she is capable of...Last nite I controlled Moonie's drop with LC, and it worked(miracle)!!
We are all rooting for you & Gracie--Big Hugs & hoping for better numbers-

Don;t you just love how they can change things on us? We have the game plan in place and then it all shifts, yet again... Aiyee! mannie's seems to be too. :?

wow on the upcoming night temps - brrrr!! I just never think about AZ being that cold at night. sorry for having to cover the plants...

Just looked up renal threshold for cats & it said 240-290 is renal threshold for cats!--So maybe not to worry--Gracie is just fine cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon

I love reading about Gracie and Tobey. They are very lucky to have each other and you guys. Their eyes just mesmerize me. I'd have to feed them if they looked up at me with them with a starving look.

Wonder why the karo stops her now. What ever reason, that's so cool. You'll have more control now right?

Good to know that nadirs can move around quickly. I never even thought that you couldn't tell where Gracies is for the most part. Makes a lot of sense with all her action and managing her drops.

I thought it was long term above the renal threshold that was damaging. We'd prefer them to stay lower, of course, but a brief bounce should do no real harm. Not that we can stop them when they want to bounce any way. The blues last night were very nice, come on , Gracie, that is the sweet spot. Go for it.

Roni: yes, we've got to try something different now and see if it will work. She keeps us on our toes. I WISH we knew her :lol: :lol: Thanks for the info on renal threshold; I know it varies by cat so I was just interested in pinpointing Gracie's. Not worried...I just like to have an idea about these things. I know it is transitory as long as I keep her numbers down most of the time. THANK YOU!

Michelle: Oh yeah...they like to keep it interesting! It's raining now and is gradually getting colder. Had to turn the furnaces on in the house..both ends since the office is in the guest wing and I don't want to sit down here and freeze :lol: :lol:

Beth: yes, I'm going to try the LC again and see what she'll do and try to hold the karo off until she gets around 50....paws crossed.

Karrie: yes, nadirs can move. Thanks about Gracie and Tobey...they are quite the pair, those to. Always up to something and they trade off on who's after whom.

Ann: Yes, it is longterm but I was just curious about where Gracie's might be; and who knows...it might be another one of those things that changes :lol: I was hoping for some good numbers today when I got the AMPS and am still hoping this +2 is just a big food spike since she gets the majority of her food between AMPS and +2. But that usually means she will either give me flat yellow or she'll just slowly move down and we'll get something tonight.

Mannie and Tess...I'm all ready!! Wait.....I hear the roadster...be right out!

Now hear this Gracie: you are about to get a dosecrease! Tomorrow morning is 10th cycle...and then up you go!!! That is not a threat..that is reality baby girl!

Mike is sick...brought home a cold so I'm going to give him some extra attention tonight and hope he feels better. Tomorrow is his birthday!!

well... at least it is yellow - I guess Gracie wants a day of rest, and better yet, a day and night of rest for her bean. I bet she's got something planned - maybe tomorrow.... then again, maybe tonight.

Oh Bummer on Mike being sick - not fun. I hope he feels better soon. and happy Birthday one day early!

Michelle....looks like NOT tonight but that's ok since Mike is sick; of course, she'll probably decide his birthday is a great time to be low all day :lol: :lol: That's ok...I think he is still going to feel rotten tomorrow.

One more test and I'm headed to bed....I'd go now except I still owe her a snack.

Hey Marjorie - how you guys been? I don't post much these days but I lurk a fair amount and I always peek in to see how our baby girl is doing. Tell Mike Happy Birthday. Stinks that he's sick on his birthday.
good luck with Gracie's increase.
 
nice yellow surfin' there Gracie - she'll be down... perhaps tomorrow. Better in the day time anyways. Gets some rest - and Mile I hope you feel better soon.

We're off a few hours and I will be gone by the time you guys even get up!

Gracie be good for Mike today ...he needs his "get better" rest. Maybe you can give him
