1/30 Zelda AMPS 42 - Not panicking but...

I mean, I love fresh pumpkin and actually keep puree in the freezer when it's off season. How much do you add?
I give very little because it's a maintenance dose. I think I do about 1/16-1/8 tsp each meal 3x/day. I mix it well. I have noticed if I don't mix it well, the cats will leave it in the dish.

Aaah, ok that makes sense. That would indeed be a negligible amount of carbohydrate compared to the wet food. Thanks for the info! I may well try that.

There are actually not many dental benefits to dry food. A good food for dental is chunks of raw meat. I give Rhubarb a chicken gizzard weekly, and when she was on insulin, small pieces of raw steak as test treats. The small pieces were too tiny to help with dental any though.
Some give raw chicken necks broke into small pieces for the teeth and fiber. One member always gave them in the shower and it is messy and a lot of kitties will toss the piece of raw neck up in the air they way they do mice after killing.

Hi, it seems that many cats (such as Willow) have constipation issues along with FD. An excellent site is www.felineconstipation.org. Amounts of anything are experimental, (what works for your cat) but the site gives good starting points. Willow is on Clearlax (Cdn Miralax) 3/8 tsp through the day in 3 of her meals, down from 1/2 tsp when she was more constipated. She also gets pumpkin 1/2 tsp twice daily. Loves pumpkin and will eat it from a spoon. ECID.
