Teresa and Poopy

Here we go again. Wish I'd been able to come home to test during the day. Grumble, grumble.

Fed Poopy his treat chicken chunk and will test again in 15-20 minutes. He is not a happy camper.

(Picture is not Poopy, but could have been! LOL)

Stinks you have to wait, but GREAT PMPS!
lookin good, what are you gonna shoot?

Re: 1/30 Poopy PMPS 164

Teresa, am I missing something? These are fantastic numbers#!! Perhaps Poopy is on his way to you know where. Anti jinx and all that. What a wonderful problem to have.

Re: 1/30 Poopy PMPS 164

Yeah that is a great number!!!! Go Poopster!
(I know messing up the schedule can be a pain, but still, great number!)

Re: 1/30 Poopy PMPS 164

yes, great number, Teresa.

And maybe you've already explained in another post and I missed it, but how did Poopy come into his name?

Re: 1/30 Poopy PMPS 164

30 minutes later and absolutely no rise.

I don't mean to sound so negative. Just not a good day today (hurt like the dickens).

What to shoot? Tempted to drop to 1.2u but wondering if I shouldn't go for 1u even. Gotta go peruse the SS for a minute.

I'll post in a minute about Poopy's name.

Re: 1/30 Poopy PMPS 164

Awsome, Teresa has BOS! Not too many people would shoot 1.2 into a 160ish.

Theresa, about the RA...is it only in your shoulder, or does it pop up in various random places? Only asking because I was dx'd with "an unspecified rhuematoid (sp) condition" several years back. They did some sort of test and said I tested positive for "HLAB27" which is some sort of genetic marker I think. Told me it was genetic, and RA does run in the family. So far no problems, but my knees are starting to hurt often.... Do you have to take meds regularly, or only when you get a flare up? They had me do a steroid test, don't remember what it is called, but they start you off on a higher dose, and you back down some every couple days until it starts to hurt again.... then they told me "sorry, that's too high a dose. If we give you that much, the steroids will cause all sorts of problems with your organs". Awesome! So I take NSAIDS once in a while.

Re: 1/30 Poopy PMPS 164

Now that Poopy is happy with his face in a bowl....

When a teeny tiny little fluff ball crossed a busy street to get to my SO, SO just had to bring him home. This little ball of fur could easily fit in one hand, he was so tiny. And what a precious little kitty he was too. (Insert sarcasm.) He was into everything! Shredding papers, chasing the two adult cats and tormenting them, climbing the furniture, curtains, shirts, pant legs or hosiery (didn't matter to him), and the list goes on. SO would shout at the kitty, calling him "Little ****", jabbing his finger at the kitty. (You have to picture this. SO was a biker, tattooed from head to toe - no joke - and looked meaner than a junk yard dog.) This gutsy little kitty would march right up to SO, right up to his extended finger, sniff it, then mark it as if to say, "Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Go on about it." and would continue on his merry way.

The other factor was the cat box. When this little kitty would go, it fumigated the whole house. We're talking curl your nose hairs bad here. SO was convinced "Little ****" was his true name. (My mom said we should have name him "Noxious" it was so bad.) After kitty saw me, he was like "Hey Dad, it's been fun but...THAT'S MOM!" and he's been mine ever since. SO and I compromised on the name...so Poopy it is.

Now this "Little ****" is almost as big as my dogs, keeps the dogs in line, and rules this roost. He's also my little love. He loves his momma! cat_pet_icon

I take two pills (Oxaprozin - NSAID) every day to "keep it in line". Pfft. Not so much anymore. My knees have been trash for quite some time (but the Oxaprozin does help them). The RA hits my hands (knuckles) mostly. And I can usually function well, as long as I don't touch a knuckle from top or palm - then I'm on my knees with wet pants...so to speak. I also get "water bumps" that come and go on the top of my knuckles that hurt like the dickens when touched. The shoulders are a newish thing. Started a few weeks ago and has progressively gotten worse. Hard to do anything without them hurting - even sleeping has it's hazards.

I think the work I have been doing has been aggravating it, as I have been doing much more filing than I normally do. Have also started wearing my carpel tunnel braces on both wrists and that seems to help at night. So, I'm thinking it's a mix of both RA and carpel tunnel. Oh joy!

I have 5 weeks off for the summer so will be hitting the rounds of docs to get something figured out.

But, eh, I'm upright and breathing so that's a good thing.

And 1.2u being BOS? Nah. Shot that yesterday in a 180ish.

Dunno if it would be too much, but I have carpal tunnel too, and I have found yoga helps it. It’s a fine line, exercise hurts initially, but sometimes helps overall. FWIW. And one of those memory foam contour pillows with the dip in the middle has helped my neck and shoulders a lot too. Chiropractor recommended it and it is very good. Isn’t getting older so fun? Sheesh! ohmygod_smile

Since so much of my work is computer oriented, I switched to a track ball and that made a HUGE difference! Haven't had to wear my braces in years. The last couple of weeks I've had to redo my filing to make room for more ongoing files (the joy of an ever changing job...but thankful I have it!) so filing has become much heavier as I'm going through everything to cull or store what I can. I am sure that's aggravated the carpel tunnel as well as the RA. I'm trying to break it up into small doses to give the repetitive motions a rest.

And, yeah, aging has it's joys!

Re: 1/30 Poopy PMPS 164

I had a lot of arthritis type pain in my back when they did all those tests. At the time, I had a desk job, computer geek, etc. When I lost that job, and became a park ranger, it did wonders for me. Back to manual labor! In the first year at my new job, I lost close to 30 pounds without trying to. My back quit hurting all the time. From mid-40s to mid-50s, I'm in better shape and feel better every day than I did in my mid-30s. And all this working outdoors? I haven't been sick in 9 years. Wish I'd known jobs like this existed when I was a young-un! My knees are cranky, and occasionally my shoulders will ache if I sleep "wrong", but the back problems went away.... back troubles are the worst.

AMPS 317 - not so pretty.

Struggled with whether or not this was a bounce or food related. Most of the extra food I put out last night was still there, so not food related. Could be a bounce, but sheesh. This is what he does - goes high. Figured I'm going to start looking at the PS as it is. It is what it is.

Have been thinking about a sliding scale -

150-199 1.2u
200-299 1.4 u
300 - > 1.5 or 1.6u

So, I shot a 1.5u.

I am very open to suggestions though. :-D

Morning Teresa, ~O)

I like your scale. Glad you were able to come up with a plan for Poopy. Looks good. I think today's AMPS was a hiccup. After all The Poop had a great run the cycle before. His numbers held steady. If you look at his SS it seems that he probably held sub 200 for approx 20 hrs. Not shabby at all! Now, throw in the 20% variance irritant and he may still be trending under 200. Remember, its just a #, you want the trend and for all accounts Poopy is trending in the right direction. You are doing a fantastic job MommaBean!!

I love how Poopy got his name! I could just picture him getting in to everything and stinking up the litter box.
I have RA but right now its in remission sort of. Mine started in my hands and top of my feet, my fingers on my right hand curled under. I was diagnosed in 2008 with sedimentation test and another test. My sister was diagnosed a year before me at age 33 and my aunt has it, so it runs in my family too. I took Medrol and Plaquenil for 3 years and weaned off when I started getting better. I know I probably will have to go back on the Plaquenil at some point. I have Fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel in the motor nerve of my right hand that I need surgery on and sometimes when in a flare up its hard to tell whats causing the pain. Whats helped me the most is massage and getting enough sleep and I had parathyroid surgery in 2010 for a benign tumor that was affecting me all over; that improved some pain and my sleep. I used to work third shift doing home care for elderly and never got enough sleep.
Poopy is doing very well!

I'm glad y'all like how he got his name. For years, my nieces and nephews wouldn't say his name. It was hilarious!

Yeah, aging and falling apart bodies are so much fun to deal with.

 My friends who are in the Medicare category with me say any day you wake up (first good sign) and can manage to get out of bed is a good day!

I am so happy that Poopy is doing so well!
wonderful news and you are doing great!
love the sliding scale you set up!
