She tested twice and got the same reading both times so I think it was real. Owen isn’t eating much so perhaps that has something to do with it? He has a vet appointment today so maybe we will get some answers.

Something else could be going on. Have them test for pancreatitis.

Thank you @Jackie and Biggie @Diane Tyler's Mom @tiffmaxee I will report back as soon as I hear from Kris. Unfortunately our local vet isn’t great with diagnostics - but I think he can at least do a snap FPL. We’ll see how it goes

The vet did a regular CBC +thyroid. Everything was normal- except ALP which was low. My vet has said that ALP is not very informative for cats. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

He did not test for pancreatitis so that is certainly still on the table.

I had suggested thyroid because Owens fur is greasy but I guess now we can rule that out. Any other ideas?

Owen was eating well after the vet visit so perhaps it was just a temporary blip.

Any thoughts on a reduction? He does seem to be bouncing around alot. We could wait and let him “earn” it.

Thank you so much. Lots of blood work done and all was normal, thank goodness.

Great that all was normal. I would not worry about the ALP either. If she can monitor I would not reduce but if an issue then give it a try.
