AMPS 235. Increased by about .1 to .25, hoping to see better nadirs again. Last time he was on .25, he hit 41 in 2 hours; so keeping a close eye on him for the next few days while this dose settles. His numbers have been pretty good the last week or so, hopefully we can get them even better.

+2 213 What the heck, Mikey?! I expected a WAY bigger drop after the increase. Instead, he's at 213! He hasn't been in the yellow at +2 on an AM cycle in 3 weeks! I didn't think I got a fur shot, but now I'm wondering if I must have...I expected to be monitoring carefully to avoid a hypo, not still yellow!

That's a pretty "normal" +2 if you look at what a typical curve would look like. Mikey may not be typical on most days but he's gonna have a few days when he follows the herd!!

+4 133 Not a terrible number for around nadir, but I expected him to be well into the greens.

PMPS 190 Mikey did have a nice long blue surf today, (was 142 at +7) but didn't see any green. We're on cycle 2 of an increase to .25, so we'll see where it takes us tonight (Mikey is often more active at night).

+2 143 Hmmm...still not seeing the numbers I expected. I still don't understand what's going on. We haven't seen a green spot in days, despite the increase today, and given Mikey's sensitivity to insulin, I'm shocked by that. I don't think my insulin is bad, because I'm seeing some drops and surfing, just not the drops I expected. I hope it isn't going bad; I can't afford a new vial right now and can't find any pharmacies that will split a pack of the pens to lower the cost.

Did you try calling a hospital outpatient pharmacy? Often they will sell single pens.

This may be a bit of New Dose Wonkiness (NDW). It can take a couple of cycles for a dose to settle.

I don't even know if we have one; we do have one hospital, I'll try there. I don't think the insulin is the issue, though, because we are getting drops...IDK. Just totally confused.

well the good thing is that you don't have to figure it out. mikey's gonna tell you over the next couple of days how this dose is doing.

and looking at +2= 143 with a preshot of 190, and as you said he seems more active at night, perhaps you'll still see green tonight. he likes to make sure you don't get too comfy and forget to pay attention to him. if he were a girl we could call him a Diva! not sure what the male equivalent of that is . . . :-D

Yeah, it's just weird...He was dropping somewhere around 100 from PS to +2 and now he's having flatter curves with not-so-good nadirs but staying in the blue much longer overall.

+3 82 Yay for green. Still weird the way he's reacting to the insulin the last week or so: he was having PS numbers in the mid 200's, quick drops and nadirs in the 60's-70'sat night and 80's-90's during the day, but rising steeply from an early nadir. Lately he's not dropping as low at nadir but staying in the mid 100's and having lower PS as well. The insulin is obviously working since he's at 82; I just expected 50's and 60's on the new dose.

+4 72 Mikey, dude, I'm all for a later nadir and all, but could you pick a pattern and stay there? For Pete's sake... Liking these numbers way better than the last couple of days...now if we can get these midcycle and the nice blue PS, that would be great!
