Yesterday's thread

Bit of a busy day - Kit is doing pretty good, although she's not thrilled I keep leaving to go to work. Her adequan should be here tomorrow, her gabapentin is here, and we're settling into an "Alicia is back at work and actually has to go in most of the time" sort of schedule.

@Wendy&Neko - a question. You said you could feel the arthritis on Neko's back legs. Kit sort of hates having her legs touched for the most part, but what does that feel like? Kit's level of spice in regards to her legs/paws being touched is probably why the vet hasn't had much of an opportunity to feel them, especially since even sedated on gabapentin for vet visits, the girl is still strong enough that yoinks her legs away from us and hides them beneath her. She's tiny, but ferocious.

Neko's worst arthritis was along her spine. I would work gently down the spine and some parts just felt thicker than others. Bumps where there shouldn't be. Even when her vet took dental x-rays he could see arthritis. He took a bump off of her jaw bone. :( She had it everywhere - darn acromegaly!

Dang. It's so hard to see them have to deal with all that. :(
I'm going to start seeing if she'll let me feel her legs - I know I can feel her spine, that zone is an okay petting zone.
