OK...I am flummoxed at this point...I really don't know what's going on with China's numbers so I'm asking for some ideas
Every time I threaten a dosecrease, she comes down (sometimes too fast) on the PM cycle, and then on the AM cycle she's just running higher than she should be
I'm tempted to increase her to 1.75 for awhile and just see if I can knock her down some overall....opinions??
she's playing opposites to Vyktor. He's lost it during the night but sailing along ok during the day i'd be pretty cautious about increasing given that 43 5 cycles ago. Personally I have my patience pants in place. If you do decide to increase be prepared for some serious pj parties!
No, she's eating the same food from the same bag she's been eating from for the last 10 days or so. She eats frozen raw mostly and each bag lasts me a little over 2 weeks
Yeah I just found that out with Bubba when I took him to 4.5 this AM instead of a FAT 4.5. What a difference! And especially because China likes to do cliff dives on you. Better safe....
Any chance of contraband? Fur shot? This cycle looks a lot like the night of the 19th. Or it could be the high before the low. I agree with Serryn that I would keep the patience pants on a couple more cycles.
Nope...not a chance she got into anything she shouldn't have...there's literally nothing in the house that's bad for a diabetic cat and since that FS on the 19th I've been very careful to make sure the shot actually got into the cat
Hi Chris,
I'm always in favor of patience pants. Do you dose with calipers? I am considering making a micro change in Rusty's dose. I use the Harbor Freight digital calipers with a Terumo 31-gauge syringe (yes, I still have Terumos thanks to @Ann & Tess GA ' s generosity). Normally, when I go up or down I do it by one drop (which I measure as o.11mm on the calipers). Now, because what I call a "straight" half unit (0.90mm) often seems to drop Rusty too low, and because what I call a "skinny" half unit (0.79mm) often doesn't seem to be enough insulin, I am going to try a dose that is half-way between the "straight" and the "skinny": 0.85mm. Perhaps you could try a micro adjustment if you can measure it consistently.
Have a good weekend,
Ella & Rusty
Yo Deputy China,
Come back to the lagoon soon, but no diving with the sharks, OK?
~ Rusty
I tried them a few times but never got the "hang" of them, but it may be worth another shot...I'll play around with them more tomorrow and see if I can figure out how to use them better so I can get more consistent dosing. I know that at least some of China's dives have been because of inconsistencies in the syringe lines
For now, I think I'm going to go ahead and increase her tomorrow if she doesn't show me something at AMPS
