Good morning!
AMPS 137 :eek::eek: shooting .75u

Boomer was a good boy and didn't wake us up last night. I had a talk with him before bed, reminded him of the story of the little kitty that cried wolf, and also told him that as much as I was very happy that he was feeling good enough that he wanted to sing, singing would have to take place during daytime hours only and that mama bean needed her sleep. I'm very surprised he didn't wake us last night; he left about a third of his +6 and a third of his +9.

Two questions: Does this look like NDW to you? Yesterday both +3s were higher than the PS numbers. And how long do I wait before increasing him further?

I'm still really tired from yesterday, I kept waking up last night I think because my body was aching. Yesterday's 3 week old "newborn" was a horrible session; she would fall asleep with mom or dad (or me) but as soon as she was put down she would wake up and scream. I had only 1 pose in 3 hours, I kept on going figuring that she'd give in eventually and she did for a few minutes allowing me to get a few more shots. She wouldn't keep a pose, didn't want her legs underneath her, didn't want her head on her arms. sigh. I may become one of "those" photographers that don't do babies over 10 days old.....although I hate to give up the business it just doesn't seem to be worth it.

I'm glad you got some sleep last night. I'm not sure about the NDW. It could be. How is Boomer feeling? Is there anything else going on that could be making his numbers a little higher?

Sorry your session was so bad. I hope the parents like the photos you did get.

Nothing else other than getting little bits of the new foods which are all around 3-4% calories from carbs

I admire your patience - I don't think I could handle a screaming baby for three hours without losing my mind...

And I wish I had an answer for you about Boomer's wonky numbers... Fingers crossed that he'll head back down.

Booms, what's going on buddy? Hopefully he'll settle down and give you those nice green surfs soon. I wouldn't increase for at least 10 cycles personally but that's me. Sorry about the session but you can only do what the baby in charge allows.

Judy, is Boomer in ear shot to hear the screaming baby? Wondering if that has him unnerved a bit ?
Yes he would be able to hear the baby although I did have the bedroom door closed for the entire session. Potentially just being closed in the bedroom for that length of time may have affected his levels a bit but they were high yesterday morning as well (so before the baby session).

i see a wee bit of green Boomer... time to find some more buddy we know you have it in you... again you are a saint Judy... i am so not the screaming child person even if they are wee babies... even if Benson scritches my head i get cats a whole lot more :bighug::bighug:

Allen's ionized calcium and PTH results....PTH zero. Ionized calcium
1.78 mmol/L. Normal is between 1.00 & 1.40
Dr Larry consulted an internal medicine specialist and she indicates 80% that it's lymphoma due to the level of Ionized calcium and the weight loss.
@Marje and Gracie I would very much appreciate your assistance!

I know there are members here who have experience with lymphoma. I have all of my questions and Dr Larry's answers in a text message.

I am wondering where is the lymphoma because it can occur in other places than the intestines. The first thing to do then is to try and find it so X-rays are a good place to start.

Not every cat with lymphoma has elevated calcium levels. In fact, I don't remember the last time I looked at labs for a cat with intestinal lymphoma where the calcium was elevated but ECID. You sent Tricia and me the texts with your vet and I agree with Tricia that CHOP is not how intestinal lymphoma is usually treated. She was correct that it is typically treated with pred and leukeran.

That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge with elevated calcium levels other than it is something that needs to be addressed so you don't get tissue calcification. I'm sorry I don't know more.

Of course, if the diagnosis is intestinal lymphoma, I can give you more info. One thing I will say is that I wish I had never done the biopsy with Gracie. I wish I'd approached it more conservatively like Wendy did with Neko and try budesonide at first and if that didn't work, go with budesonide and leukeran even tho there are no studies yet that show budesonide and leukeran work as well as pred and leukeran.

Many hugs and prayers. Please keep us posted.

Thanks Marje :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Dr Larry did say that he hadn't dealt with this in quite some time so he could have the "CHOP" info wrong. It was my presumption that it might be intestinal because of the constipation but the constipation could be a coincidence. I am hoping that the specialist contacts Dr Larry today and he'll be able to expand on the info from yesterday.

It's certainly possible to have IBD and/or lymphoma and have constipation instead of diarrhea although cats with intestinal lymphoma tend to have softer stools over harder ones but ECID.
