Snuck home at lunch to get a +4 (really +4.5)- he's at 79. Yay Atticus! He's having some lunch now, so I'm not going to worry about going back to work. And it only took one poke this time- whew!

Thought I'd answer your question from gracie's condo here...
oftentimes, a flat yellow cycle leads to "action" in the next cycle...
blues and greens. :-D

Ummm...but someone else would have to explain the "why" of that... :?

PMPS is 364. I know it's a bounce from that pretty 79 today, but I'd love to have less pinks to show the vet how great he's doing with the 1.1u. I think I'll be forwarding her the updated SS later this week. I'll likely want to keep his dose where it is for a while longer.

Celi: Huh, that's interesting. I'll have to watch for that. Times like this I wish I had some kind of biology degree.

Hi Monica:

What a nice green for Atticus today!! Did you know that you can share his SS with your vet....you can just click on "share" and add her email address and then she can look at it whenever she wants or you ask her to!

I see Celi got to your condo first to answer the question. That's funny what you said because I do have a MS in biology and I still have to tell you the same thing as Celi....we don't know why but it's very prevalent to see
active cycles after very flat yellow ones. Sometimes you might see a flat yellow, a spike up into pink, and then active. Check out Gracie's SS on 1/26. Flat yellow all day, spiked up to 327 next morning and then right into
green. Keep in mind that Gracie is on levemir so her cycles are very different than lantus cycles.

Hope you have a great evening.....good questions!

  I had a double major...Psychology and Zoology- which you'd think would help..
but this is ALL an education for me

Hi guys - I thought I'd pop in and say hello - As I haven't visited you before. Very nice +4 for Atticus, I love his name btw. I think we area all in the same boat, degrees or not! Even my MA hasn't helped me! It's just so great that we can learn from one another here.

It was a nice day for Atticus. Maybe a little bounce tonight, but still a good day. I hope your vet will be glad to see how well Atticus is doing. Good job! :-D

i think feline diabetes is just a mystery - it seems to be different than anything else, and it's not intuitive at all. you learn from someone else who is experienced, which is what makes this site so incredibly helpful!

atticus is looking good - the one thing is the bounces do settle down once atticus gets used to hitting a 79 a few times, he should stop bouncing from it. but of course, he is a cat and his job is to keep you wondering and guessing! good job atticus!

hahaha it's like the humans walk around scratching their heads "i don't know why the cat's doing that!?" and they all agree that it's a mystery beyond human understanding or education. in the meantime, the kitters are so very satisfied "got them all scratching their heads!" they say happily! "our job here is done for now!" :-D
