Good Morning, Everyone,

Our thoughts are with Kristin this morning. Her beautiful Calley is flying free.
Yesterday

We were basically a no-show yesterday. I thought I was going to make a simple dinner for a little dinner party, but it turned out to be far from simple! One of those days. :arghh: Rusty was a big help, however. While I was busy in the kitchen, he and Edward entertained the guests (another couple and an out-of-town visitor with whom we canoe at Canoe Outing in the summer). We had leftover ham from the New Year's Eve party, but I decided to cook it and then had to do "side dishes". Mistake!

Rusty woke us up last night at 4 A.M. coughing up about a teaspoon of opaque, white, spit-like gunk. I wonder if the Allerplex loosened it up? He's fine this morning. I wanted him to schmooze with me, but he decided that the radiator was a better choice. It is COLD here: -2 degrees this morning (up to 12 degrees). We are expecting a major winter storm with about a foot of heavy, wet snow (temperatures are supposed to rise tonight).

Wishing you all a good weekend and sending vines to all in need,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. to Elsa: more :coffee::coffee: please!!

A "simple" little dinner party! Those sides will do you in every time. Sounds like a delicious evening.

-2 degrees? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'd be hanging by the radiator, too, Rusty. Stay safe with the incoming storm.

Sounds like a good weekend to hunker down, sip warm drinks, and snooze with a cat.

Ugh on the gunk! I hope that was the allerplex doing its thing. Good thing Rusty could help with the entertaining! :joyful: Stay warm! Our snow is melting rapidly but I did get in two good skiing days. Maybe tomorrow morning too.

I hope getting rid of the "gunk" makes Rusty feel better. Simple dinner parties are never simple!

Hey Rusty, I'm not back yet either. We can slide down together! -- Tess

"Simple dinner party" is a contradiction in terms! Sounds like you weathered it well, though. How nice of Rusty and Edward to pitch in and help!

I hope the "gunk" was indeed a sign the lung treat is working, and that Rusty continues to be agreeable about eating it.

Stay warm and safe this weekend, Ella, and feel free to send some of that snow this way (I never give up)!

Hi Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Rusty, youa re looking good today. I suspect maybe the lagoon is next? I hope you are feeling good after that gunk episode. never fun huh. You be good and surf well tonight. :cat:

I agree with the others: dinner parties are never simple... :rolleyes:At least for me they are not. but I do hope you had a good time.

o_O It is COLD there! I can't begin to imagine what that feels like, those below zero temps. I have a friend who lives in ID and they are having eh same thing. -8 the other morning, the high as 12. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! We are finally warming some: 40 for the high, 30 at night. not too bad for us. Enjoy the snowfall.

Have a great rest of your evening!

I hope the gunk was from the Allerplex helping and Rusty is breathing easier now. I hope Rusty gets back to the lagoon soon.

Hi again,
Rusty had a good day by the radiator. He took his "lung treat" again, but we had to coax him at first (once he tasted it, he wanted it). I've spent the day doing bookkeeping, etc. My task for tomorrow is to tackle the names and addresses on the junk mail that has been piling up. My New Year's resolution is to tend to the junk mail every day (I have garbage bags full of it on my porch--several years worth:p!! but I can't even bear the thought of going through those bags, only the piles of mail on my study floor!)

Hope everyone is having a good evening. Rusty is waiting for us to come down to watch TV and serve him his dinner on the couch.

Ella & Rusty

YAY for eating his lung treat! A day by the radiator sounds good. Have you thought how well all that junk mail would work as fire starters?

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who feed her cat on the couch! Easier for me to see if she is eating.

Yuck on the gunk, but it does sound like the Allerplex is doing it's thing. It's great to hear he's liking it again.

Seem to be a lot of blues again - could you get Rusty to convince Neko to dip her paw in the lagoon? Have a great evening.

Ugh on junk mail - sturdy shredders are worth it!

When I did the bedtime test I got a "lo"!!! Not believing it I tested again and got 179 (which is characteristic of some of Rusty's patterns). Rusty was eating his dinner all evening, so I don't think the "lo" could possibly have been correct.

Thanks for visiting. The snowstorm has been going for a while (4 or 5 inches of new snow). The temperature is just at 31 degrees. It may turn to freezing rain. We have a winter weather advisory in effect.

Ella & Rusty

What happened Rusty was the water too cold - you just dipped your toes in then out again. Maybe you should come and visit Vyktor - it's summer over here
