He wanted to talk and talk and talk this morning. His appetite was great though. I think my sleeping out on the living room loveseat once Chatty Kathy made an appearance made him want to spend more time eating (food is on the living room coffee table). That extra couple of hours that I lost, I would LOVE to get back darnit. Once I had to get up for his shot and the dogs heart medication I'm awake and can't get back to sleep anyhoo.

Good morning guys! Nice amps today maverick! Mocha loves to talk .. in the morning, in the afternoon, evening .. through the night .. sometimes these kitties just have a lot to say! Hope maverick surfs the day away for you .. have a great day guys!

LOL Ann. Chattie Kathie is Maverick's alterego. Maverick isn't a talker at all but for some reason at 5am or 6am (when I really really really need to be sleeping) he walks around the bedroom or just lies down and talks to an imaginary friend. Maybe we'll name his imaginary friend Chattie Kathy.

My alarm didn't go off for his +5 check. So only got a +3. I can't remember the test results from upstairs to downstairs. My memory is that bad. Sad huh. And when I go upstairs to get it, I get side tracked.

I had a nap today. I feel much better. Maverick is sleeping on his dog bed - getting energy to be up talking in the AM. He was very subdued yesterday and more quiet than normal. He also found a way to get back on his ledge. I blocked it with a laundry basket and boots and he found his way through. He eats less when he is hanging out on his ledge and isn't as social. When his arthritis starting getting bad he couldn't get up to his window ledge (from DH's huge computer monitor at the time)... so we cut a hole in the foyer wall and built him a ramp up to a home made ledge. We had plans of making the hole nice with trim but haven't gotten around to it. We never get visitors out our way - we are always the one going to visit. I have to find a way to block it and open it as a treat for him. His favourite cardboard box is on the ledge. PS this is my husbands room - its an old tv room in the basement with our aquariums. Paint choice wasn't mine lol.

This was completely unexpected. His nadir is around +3 according to the last curve. I missed testing all afternoon (alarm didn't go off and a nap). He just doesn't go very low this late.

So i am stalling 15 minutes and will retest. He ate actually more than normal an hour ago - 1.5oz of SK Turkey and giblets. Did his pancreas do this on his own?

What a cutie in the box! I love that pic of Maverick. That is so funny about the alter ego and Chatty Kathy! I know if I don't write the bg down right away, it just gets forgotten!

Great just went up to get the +3 reading that I got this morning to update his spreadsheet. And I found him sitting at his food eating ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile I work from home and have a hypo kit ready. I can just shoot this or delay. But with a +3 nadir, not sure? Even though the spreadsheet says .50SK its actually a .25 that I'm giving. Consistent. But I posted macro pics of his dose the other day and everyone said it looked like a .25.

I would have liked to have know if this was a dropping number but with food on board, who knows!?

Are you comfortable shooting?

Yes I'm comfortable shooting and monitoring. It would just be a first for me if his numbers keep dropping. Especially on such a low dose. He normally doesn't eat the amount he did before his shot time. He normally eats that amount later in the night. He doesn't have a good appetite before PMPS but today he did. He ate about an ounce and a half. Normally would only eat 1oz. I'll update when we test now.

I don't know how many bites he got at +12 (the 1.5oz was at +11). But just did a test at +12.3 (20 minutes after +12) and its 67.

My schedule is extremely flexible so it doesn't matter whether we shoot or delay. Tons of strips, high carb food, corn syrup etc. and I work from home.

It looks like Maverick is surfing. 67 is certainly close enough to some of the 70s that you've shot. I'd go for it but it's your call.

it looks like he's surfing, if you can monitor (starting with +1) then you can shoot whenever you're comfortable. You shoot 70s all the time so this isn't very different. Nice!

Thanks you guys. I'll keep you posted starting with the +1. I've read along with a lot of people experiencing hypos. No one needs to stay up with me if he does go low if he decides to see what its like today. Maybe that old pancreas of his did the work for his early unexpected (to the bean) meal tonight?

We love staying up late (eyes rolling). Part of having someone that's up with you means you have to reply so it helps to keep you awake!! It's very likely that Maverick is going to surf. He has an early nadir so lots of us should be around.

Why not? He's surfing beautifully. A little food will help keep Maverick on his surfboard.

Cool. Just put his food down for him. Its like my brain turned off because it was something new. I've fed him after PMPS every night before not sure why I made tonight any different ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile

He's happily eating. +3 59. That will surely rise with food. Thanks guys.
