Yesterday Doodles 1/2

Despite Doodle's 2 soft stools and a vomit yesterday he seems to be in good spirits. Picked up some Orijen Wild Boar freeze dried treats....he loved them but didn't chew so up they went. I probably gave him too many, it was just nice to see him "dig-into" something.

Wellness Chicken & Beef this morning - good geez that stuff is thick! Have several cans of various Weruva to try but the calories are super low! I have no idea how he would get enough to sustain his weight. There is no way the boy is going to eat 5 cans in 1 day. I'll weigh him today and just hope he's maintained.

There's been some great things happening with the L&LL kitties especially nice to see Wendy & Neko and Anne & Hyde surfing those beautiful numbers along with many others. Vines for everyone who needs them.

vey nice!! I have had the issue with the pukis from eating the freeze dried too fast-- I now vita mix them and leave them out for snacks--they are so finicky and I figure better they eat than not eat, pick and choose battles these days --although now they are all about the cat man do chicken treats ---boys!!
The vita mix did solve the pukis problem tho ;)
Doodles is looking great!

Pretty pre-shot for Doodles today! I hope you work out the food thing. I found with the Weruva and some similar that not only is the calorie count per volume low, but the dry meat shreds do not appeal to Rosie in the least. So she would studiously lick the moisture from every bit of the food and leave the shreds behind. Even attempting to disguise them by mixing into another food did not help. She does love human canned chicken and if I need to get something bland into her, I use that.

Good to know and I can see that happening. We'll give it a shot like with all the others. My local shelter gets a lot of food which is fine. I might as well try the human canned chicken too! They gave me samples of Stella & Chewy's freeze dried food that you rehydrate with water. The poor guy doesn't know what to think/eat these days and with IBD I could be messing him up even more so 1 new food a day.

I haven't had the best luck with Wellness either. Their production plant is here in town and they donate to our shelter on a fairly regular basis - so it really is a shame that my boys won't eat it consistently. My non-diabetic foster cats really like their grain-free dry food, but the canned food isn't one of their favorites. All of my cats LOVE the Holistic Select canned food though (which is made by the same parent company, Wellpet). The grain free salmon and shrimp is their current favorite.

I blend it in the vita mix on a low setting, it turns it into like a saw dust type texture-I keep the cat man do chicken for when they want to eat something a little more hearty because they are softer than pure bites freeze dried and don't seem to have the pukis problem with cat man do chicken or salmon.
This morning Dre isn't interested in 7 of the cans of food he has out so at least he gets some nutrition until he gets a little hungry-I am sure any blender will work.

Oh No! I hope he eats soon. What is with the kitties not wanting to eat? It stresses me out lol!

Interesting! I think out kitties are plotting-I got human canned salmon, chicken and tuna last night--he wants none of them :(
I am vegetarian so I have no idea if they taste like "can" but I have bought from whole foods and tried raw -slightly cooked-cooked-NADA!
He has taken a few licks this morning-so frustrating !!

Must be something in the air. Polly's been a food diva the last few days. Oh, a little of this. Maybe a little of that. Oh, how 'bout some of that over there. Picky, picky, picky. But she'll come clean up any leftovers on her sister's plate even though it's the same food she had at her first offering. Darn cat!

Beautiful line of numbers today for Doodles.

I can so relate to this.
I have been struggling with my Cashmere's poo issue, but finally we might be going to the right direction with home cooked diet.

Sometimes, though not for all cats, new food trial won't work if you introduce it to a cat when his/her tummy is already upset/inflamed.
So I think it's better to space a bit between trials.
Paws crossed you will find some foods that works for Doodle soon.

thank you. I tried home cooking once, he was sick for 3 days and I only added 1 tsp to 3 different meals. will try it again some day. Hope Cashmere is feeling good.

Nice cycle today Doodles! :D Now about that poo and vomit. :stop:

We've been using the Orijen Tundra cat treats with success - one at a time. Wild boar seems not to agree with IBD civie. I think one of the hardest parts of IBD is that you have to do Start Slow Go Slow with different fuds. I've started a journal too to see if I can tie things together. I find myself sitting on my hands for a while too.

Ok, I can breath now with that 71, just hope he surfs until PMPS! Wondering if I should reduce to .75 although it is not my preference. Any thoughts?
