I have no clue what set him off at 4:15 a.m. but he woke both of us screaming his lungs out and running around the bedroom. My first thought was he was going too low and looking for food. Nope he tested 121. Got him settled down and just about back to sleep and then the civies started going nuts yelling and running from window to window. My hunch is one of the @#!$&*# neighborhood toms was prowling around the outside of the house. Especially since I was greeted with a sprayed on stove and fresh marking by the side door.

Your out in the country? Coyotes maybe? Might have scared the bejesus out of them. Do you guys have bears there?

Well... not bragging but my Alska is a match for Casey today. That's pretty good since Casey has been putting us all to shame.
Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!

Technically we are still considered in town, but we are only 6 blocks away from the fair grounds and the edge of town. While there are a few coyote around they mostly stay out on the plains near the Platte River which is about 75 miles away. The farmers and ranchers have pretty much driven them off around here as there is a bounty on them here. About the only true wildlife we get is fox, skunk, racoon and the occasional white tail deer.

Nope no bears a few mountain lions but they are very rare.

When there is another cat outside Dallas gets a little crazy too, although usually crazy quiet...
