Good morning, Lantus land!

all 5 p's present for the Binkster this morning...he's yellow...but a busy boy.

So, after thinking about it a little, I decided to share something that occurred yesterday with you. It's a positive thing, although it will give you some insight into what motivates some of my family members...

I've mentioned before that my cousin & my sis are the only 2 family members who have any interest in Binks course of treatment...the momster and the nephew began by being very nasty about the situation (as it takes my time & finances off the table for their use)...then, since i have the sometimes dubious pleasure of being the "family leader" they very quickly resigned themselves to the fact that any more snide comments would trigger my famous edict "I don't choose to linger where i am not comfortable"
So, at new years dinner, my sis insisted that they check out the DCIN page that had Binks' story among "Cats helped"...and now....since he's had his "15 minutes of fame" in their eyes...it's suddenly a 'legitimate endeavor' :lol: they both contacted me yesterday and apologized for how they had viewed the situation.
Crazy, isn't it? But it's one more thing that i thank Venita & crew for...Legitimizing Binks!

i realize i should be a little chagrined to share our questionable family dynamics...but "we are who we are...and now Binks is a star!" (to them, at least.) If they followed even one day on the forum, they'd see how it's a very credible process...and there are very worthwhile benefits to our "craziness", and there are a plethora of "star-quality" sugarcats and beans!

Oh Celi, I totally understand wher you're coming from. I too, have family members who have no interest in Checkers sugardance.
I was actually asked why I don't have him euthanized, because of his "health issues", at his age of 15.
After seeing my eyes bug out, jaw hang open, and face turn flaming red, he backpaddled and tried to recant.
Choking on my anger, I calmly explained about diabetes, and the care of the cat that is the world to me.

He was selfishly annoyed because I originally declined to attend his dd's birthday party. Yes, it was my granddaughter, but...it was a birthday party, for Pete's sake; he couldn't understand that keeping my cat from a hypo episode was more important than a child's party?

Yes, I understand, and am glad that your mom and nephew 'see the light' now.
Hmm, Celi, if you'd like me to move this to my own condo, let me know. :-D

AAhhh..families...can't live without 'em, can't toss 'em outta the car on the side of the road. :lol: :lol: Actually...not my line and I think it referred more to wives but I digress. Love the 21 meow salute Roni!! Only you!!

You guys crack me up. The pictures that you find make me laugh out loud daily.

Glad Binks is now a star. Celi thank you for sharing about your family dynamics. My family doesn't understand at all. You are an inspiration daily with your humour and attitude. I love your edict don't choose to linger where i am not comfortable - I'd love to borrow it some time.

Morning Celi and Binks! One has to love family members. and friends. same here, though the immediate family are supportive, and understanding. Been through the "sorry I can't make it because Mannie is...." scenario too. ah yeah - just one day on the forum would cure all...

Indeed family can be a troublesome lot in so many ways. On the other hand...sometimes you just can't live without them either.

I'm glad they took the time to find out a little more about Binks and you. And while they think Binksy is a star...somewhere in their psyche...you are too.

Uh, oh... I'm wearing out the exclamation point key on my computer. Hahahahaha!!

Back on topic... I hope the bit of yellow turns blue/green very soon. Maybe this yellow was a result of last night's possible fur shot. I like simplicity. Go Binks, go!

barb...move it to chex condo??? No! we were about to suggest that everyone move to Boise...then realized...Wait...it's Boise :shock:

we have 2 spare bedrooms if ever needed though! (not inhabited by Torties...tho they'd LOVE the company.)
been in & out running belated errands...the girls have been out all morning...no spats except for the pair binks is trying with his new suit...
decide to give his lil swivelers a rest...and he's hit the healing range. way to go, Binks!

will be back in awile to check in on the Functional Adopted family happenings!

Celi, I know how happy it made you to have your family finally realize that Binks is not only a star, but a very very important part of your life. I think we all have a family member or two that just don't understand why we do what we do for our fur kids.

Having a terrible time picking up a wi fi signal...so i'm going to post a quick recap, and if we don't get back on...i'm here and keeping an eye on him...
have made it to one condo so far...but i don't think we'll be visiting any more...

Glad to see those numbers turn around.

People don't have to be family to not understand. The "advantage" of family is that they know how to get under our skin far more easily than anyone else.
 
Great PM cycle. I agree whole heartedly about how hard it can be to make family understand. After a day of dealing w/ my own, sheesh! And we didn't even talk about FD!

Celi...another great post on our condo....that is SOOOOO Gracie!! After all the food she got yesterday, she's been camped on the kitchen counter while we've been home with a fork in one hand and a napkin tied around her neck :lol: :lol:

Tobey, on the other hand, spent an inordinate amount of time sitting on the desk watching the screensaver. Poor warped child.

Time for Binksy to go the other way!!
