hi everyone! Aurora had a bad night last night I woke up at 230am to her throwing up a hair ball. I figured that was everything and went back to bed. This morning she passed a big poop and then threw up two smaller piles. Her blood sugar has been really good imo but this morning she was Amps 213! Tonight PMPS she’s at 111 which is typically her average lately she’s is usually 95-108 which I’m pretty happy with. The hairball would have driven up her numbers right? She’s been good this afternoon. Then I noticed something really odd with my other cat Mulan who is three. Poor baby had severe allergies to indoor things like dust mites and outdoor stuff like oak trees etc. she is on atopica 6 days per week to keep her immune response from making her crazy itchy and also about 5 months on weekly allergy injections. I noticed this afternoon the whiskers only on her right side won’t stop trembling. I’m concerned but not freaking just yet. I looked in her mouth and everything seems okay. What/could cause whiskers to tremble only on 1 side? They were both at the vet about two months ago and everyone had blood work and had normal results. I took a video not sure if I can post here or not so you can see the tremble. Thanks everyone!
 
Thanks Chris! Hoping to hear from others especially about Mulans whiskers twitching I’m freaking out a little.
 
Thanks Lizzie! Well I have dealt with ckd before so it doesn’t scare me. I’d say it’s pretty unlikely since she had a full work up afew months ago and all was normal. I wonder if this is a possible side effect from the atopica
 
I seriously doubt it’s kidney disease. All my cats ended up with that at one time or another and the symptoms at the start were drinking and peeing more. I have no clue what it could be but a reaction to sonething like the atopica or something else seems to make sense. I’d just watch for now as well.

Could Mulan have scratched her whiskers? Cat's whiskers are very sensitive. There is even a cat bowl that is designed on the principle that cats should not have to cram their whiskers into a bowl with too small an opening.
I hope you can figure out what is going on!
 
I’m just sick. Mulan was acting normal last night she was frisky and playing. The vet called back and watched the video and she said she wasn’t concerned. She said tomjust keep an eye on her. I came home early today not feeling well myself and Mulan was upstairs in her scratch post sleeping. I said hi to her and went back down to kitchen. I heard her meow ( she never meows she trills or chirps ) so that got my attention. I offered her lunch and she refused and went back upstairs under the bed. She seems very tired and sad and refused dinner tonight. She’s been sleeping in her box since. I’ll take her in first thing tomorrow. Can’t help but feel worried. She’s already on atopica for severe allergies and allergy shots 1x per week. She’s only three. I hope this isn’t anything bad. Can cats get the flu? I feed them on paper plates so nonwhisker stress. I have those wet nose bowls for water and those are whisker friendly. I want to burst into tears right now.
 
Just got up 145am central time she slept in her box since I went to bed. She got out when she saw me and wanted food so she ate and went potty. Thanks goodness. I’ll still take her in this morning to be checked over.
 

Hi everyone I’m so sorry to keep bothering everyone about a non diabetic issue but I’m concerned. I took a video of Mulan sleeping you can see the whisker movement and also her right ear is moving constantly as well. She was sleeping with one eye slightly open and then had quite a big jiggle and woke up. I have seen her dream before and shake like that, is that just rem sleep movements or something concerning? I also texted the video to my vet.
 
She is eating normally again just not too much into wanting to play and she’s normally really excited to play. She hasn’t played since Thursday night. Friday was the first day of her not feeling well.
 
Shadow used to twitch a lot while she slept. I noticed it and worried when she first started insulin. I think they can really respond physically when they are dreaming.
I hope it's not an adverse reaction. Allergies are difficult enough already.

I have seen Mulan twitch like that multiple times and same with Aurora dreaming so I think I’m over reacting to that part. I am still worried about this whisker twitching business. She finally got all her frisky back tonight and played for the first time in days. Maybe she has a virus it’s heen freezing in Chicago and everyone eithernhas a cold or the flu.
