We had a crisis at Casa del Allie and consequently steve didn't get his shot on time. We were 5 hours late. Judge me...it's okay...I'm already doing it myself. Putting a nice cherry on top of the already bad dose time, the wrong dose was also given. DH gave the dose and he accidentally gave 1.5U. This is more my fault than DH, I thought I told him we were doing 1.25, but apparently I didn't.

SO, now I'm trying to figure out how to proceed. I was hoping to do a curve today. I can do one easy-peasy now cause I'll be here for all the times. BUT...I don't know if the late dose will affect the results. I was under the impression though that a curve done the first day at a new dose wouldn't really give good results. I really don't want to poke him today, if it won't provide valuable info. I could switch the curve till tomorrow, but should I step back down to 1.25 or hold steady at 1.5.

Also, how can I move him back to his normal dose time safely? I've been off by an hour or so before. Never by 6 hours.

I'd love it if you could answer these and any other questions about the universe when you have a moment (tonight's lottery numbers anyone? anyone?).

Thanks!

You know, Allie, that one of the requirements for posting here is that you NOT be perfect, so you can stay.

It's your call. Since the shot was late and he is unusually high for the pre shot, it won't give you information that would be as pertinent as a normal situation. Any chance you can do it tomorrow?

Let's see where he is around nadir to see about the dose. It would be nice to get back to a schedule that will work for you, and luckily PZI is flexible enough to allow for that.

Sue, I know people don't have to be purfect to post here, but just cause they don't need to be doesn't mean I don't beat myself up when I am not (I spend a lot of time bruised and bloody). :o

I'm gonna take a +3, +5, +7 today.

Yes I can get a full curve tomorrow, but I'm not quite sure how to get back on track. I was thinking later at +9.5 Amps I could give him his pm dose(as long as he is above 200 and he is rising). Then in then tomorrow at +9.5 I could give him his am dose. That would have us on the right schedule by morning.

Re: 1/29 Steve AMPS 404

I would think your plan would work, but I hope others will chime in before you have to decide. You'd want to test enough to be positive he is heading up and deciding the dose might be tricky.

Re: 1/29 Steve AMPS 404

I think it is a good plan. I often had to adjust the time of shooting by 1 or 2 hours. You are talking about a change of 2 1/2 hours. As long as it is above 200 and rising, I don't see a down side.

edit---your bruised and bloody description reminds me of an old favorite song of mine:

When a drip becomes a puddle then you've got to muddle through
Just to finish you're a winner and there is no number 2
Make waves, make love, make dinner
And then sometimes just make do
But take more out of life than it takes out of you!
