Boy, how time flies. I don't remember the exact date of Trix's diagnosis (it was a few days ago) because that week was a hugely stressful whirlwind, but one year ago today, Trixie recieved her first dose of insulin. Gosh, I remember how nervous we were with that first shot. We have come a long, long way. Our vet told us that testing once a week at +6 was more than enough...we believed her, and that's what we did for the first three weeks - until she tossed us her first 55. Talk about turning things around, and fast!

We are beyond thankful for all the guidance, support, and friendship we have recieved here at FDMB. It still makes me a sad to have to poke her little ears at least 6 times a day, but because of this group, we never feel alone, and that means the world to us.

I never thought I'd "celebrate" Trixie's diabetes, but we have learned so very much from our brave little kitty...more than I can put into words. So yes, it IS a happy day here.

And, I think I'm going to celebrate with a little BTB. I have a hectic day ahead, so I probably won't have a chance to visit condos until this evening. Have a wonderful Saturday, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts, LantusLand!

Amy

Happy Annifursary, hoping you're enjoying your btb. Trixie will of course celebrate by dancing on the green floor.

Re: 1/28 Trixie AMPS 115 -Happy Annifursary!

Amy and Trixie, Happy Annifursary!! I remember when you joined, just a couple of months after I joined with Simon. This group certainly has been such a support and it has been wonderful getting to know so many people and their kitties in our same situation. I know Simon wouldn't be doing as well if I hadn't found FDMB.

Have a wonderful day, Amy!

Happy Annifursary Trixie & Amy!! That is very exciting. She is doing great and you are a wonderful bean!

Not the most impressive day on record...and she didn't even have any cake! Still, a very special day in a very unique way. Thank you, everyone, for joining in our celebration!

Having a kitty with diabetes teaches us many things and undoubtedly, brings us closer to that kitty. I hope you and Trixie had a wonderful celebration.

I think Trixie's diabetes has brought me closer to ALL my kitties, and I'm so grateful for that. I've developed a new perspective on what is top priority in my life. It has been a very stressful, but very special, year indeed.

Kathy...yes on those details! I've got GAs...so, potential pit. Since I had to head straight into work right after I got the tix, it's just starting to sink in now...OMG, I am beside myself like a school girl. And...if you want to head this way on March 29, I'm sure DH (who generally accompanies me only as a favor) would be happy to give up his ticket ;-) !!!

Careful with that offer...you'll find yourself at the bottom of a big pile of people who want that ticket! You are among the best people on the planet to offer, but I am working on deadline from March 15 on. I'm hoping there will be a second domestic leg after the European tour, maybe closer to home.

But I send you boatloads of good karma for the offer! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMPEACE: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

There is no doubt there will be a second leg, stadium tour late summer into the fall. I'm sure he'll land closer to your area! Being in NJ is a mixed blessing...we're guaranteed shows, but getting tickets is a stressful challenge. I got shut out of sales yesterday, making for one grumpy bean!!!

How did you get them today? (Dare I ask in a public forum? )

I did know people who would go up to the box office the night of the performance and get those late-release tickets, but I would die a thousand deaths wondering if I'd get shut out!

I got them online, through ComcastTix....purely on the up-and-up, sweating the whole time, but I have nimble (typing!!!) fingers when it comes to getting tickets to Bruce  ! Yesterday's attempt was through Ticketmaster, who still has not learned how to deal with the high volume of traffic that Bruce ( and similar artists) generate. To be honest, I have been a fan since I was a kid, but the first show I went to was at the very end of "The Rising" tour, because I always had horrific luck when trying to get tickets. I gave up for a long, long time...I was so discouraged. But then I won the tickets to "The Rising" in a office lottery, and every since then, my luck has turned around. I've had pit tickets more often than not, and I think I've only been shut out of 2 attempts now.

They do drop tickets a few weeks before the shows, too. There have been times I've gone that route, because I've pulled poor seats the day the tickets have gone on sale. Going to the box office the day of a show is iffy...I'm not sure if I would go that route myself.

I hope you and Trix had a great day and it is a great day because she is healthy and happy. And we are celebrating a year of having you, Trix, and the entire gang in our world.

Glad you got a btb today!! You deserve it. Many hugs!

That is a great story! I am so sorry you got shut out before the Rising tour, but so glad you won!

My first shows were the BIUSA tour, but I've never gotten over my sadness about missing the River tour. It's still my overall complete favorite album. (Naturally: it's TWO Bruce albums!  )

I will look forward to hearing ALL about it.

Thank you, Marje!! I'm sure most people would think I'm crazy for celebrating this day, but it really has been an amazing year for us, very worthy of celebration.

BitUSA was rough for me...I spent 12+ hours on the phone trying to get tickets, with no luck. My Mom has not forgiven him for that just yet. I missed "The River" by a few months at Notre Dame...that one still kils me. I started there the next year. Then, I can't remember which tour it was, but I camped out at the mall for tickets and someone pulled a gun on the crowd just as the tickets went on sale. I ran to the other side of the mall as fast as I could. By the time I got my bearings and headed to the box office....sold out. After that, I gave up till "The Rising." But, I've had good luck since then....

If there were a Bruce Tour Story Book, yours would HAVE to be in it. Bruce should have given you all tickets just for experiencing that violence!

Rock On. :-D

'night

I wish I had met you under different circumstances, but I'm glad I can call you a friend whichever way we met!!! Champ's time is coming in about a month...can't believe it.

I'm glad Trixie is so healthy and happy. I hope this year proves to be less stressful for you and all your furbabies remain healthy.
