Boy, how time flies. I don't remember the exact date of Trix's diagnosis (it was a few days ago) because that week was a hugely stressful whirlwind, but one year ago today, Trixie recieved her first dose of insulin. Gosh, I remember how nervous we were with that first shot. We have come a long, long way. Our vet told us that testing once a week at +6 was more than enough...we believed her, and that's what we did for the first three weeks - until she tossed us her first 55. Talk about turning things around, and fast!
We are beyond thankful for all the guidance, support, and friendship we have recieved here at FDMB. It still makes me a sad to have to poke her little ears at least 6 times a day, but because of this group, we never feel alone, and that means the world to us.
I never thought I'd "celebrate" Trixie's diabetes, but we have learned so very much from our brave little kitty...more than I can put into words. So yes, it IS a happy day here.
And, I think I'm going to celebrate with a little BTB. I have a hectic day ahead, so I probably won't have a chance to visit condos until this evening. Have a wonderful Saturday, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts, LantusLand!
