Do you see any benefit in bringing my own sample first? George is so horrible at the vet they have to put him completely under to do any type of examination or tests. That would explain his not so George bg lately. If checking for infection the vet needs a sterile sample though. That means bringing him there.
That’s tough. The problem is if there’s bacteria it might not mean infection. I don’t know how you can catch a sterile sample. Have you ever brought in a sample that was negative?Do you see any benefit in bringing my own sample first? I would try it! See if he'll let you hover around him with a ladle, so you can get a sterile sample -- I worked as a vet's assistant for many years and we always had people try to get the sample at home if possible -- just so long as it's kept refrigerated before you bring it in. But if he's like Sunny, he won't let you near him at the litter boxDo you see any benefit in bringing my own sample first? Brilliant! I could never get anything under my cats to catch a sample.I have a spare cheap litterbox solely for urine samples for vet. I just sprinkle like a very small handful in one corner, and he pees in the opposite (empty) side. I take the litter out, pour into cup, and refrigerate. 24 hrs is max you can refrigerate. Then I sterilize the box after (and before I use it the next time).
He's never had a UTI and they've all come back negative ha it's always been some other issue
As much as I hope it's nothing, sometimes it's nice to have an explanation for the BGs
