Attie doesn't seem to be sneezing up a storm this morning and he had his breffis with gusto! Paws crossed that perhaps the lysine will circumvent or is at least diminishing the severity this time. We'll see what the next 10 or so days bring though.

Last night Gary settled into the wicker chair in the office. He has been doing that lately when I am working in the evening. Recall, Attie was penned up in the bedroom with the humidifier. MudCat came into the office and proceeded to 'tease and cajole' Gary in the chair. Normally it would be behavior to challange another cat for that bed, spot, basket etc. But with MudCat she NEVER lays in that chair or in the room when I am hear. So the only thing I can chalk it up to...she wanted to play with him. Gary was so good about the whole thing too. He just patiently laid there and let her do her teasing all around him.

Gary has really turned out to be quite a sweet, sweet cat. A year ago with him sick and laying in the foster room hissing at every attempt to pet/touch....to a cat that when I come home isn't satisfied with a few strokes and headbutts, but needs to be picked-up and cuddled.

I think MudCat is happy Gary is inside, too.

Glad Attie is feeling better. Are you feeling better, too?

Oh...thanks for asking Dyana. No, not really. But then I do think this weather isn't much of a help either. We've got some more cold and wet snow/rain today.

I plan to have the day off and spend as much of it laying down with the heating pad as I can. Right now I am sitting at the desk with the lavender hot pack on my back.

how about you?

We're still in considerable discomfort. I am seriously hoping for a quiet day to rest.

Attie just cut loose with some big sneezes...poor guy. I think I'll do his least favorite thing here in a few minutes...we'll go take a hot shower! :o

Hi Beth, I hope Attie continues to improve. And what a great report on Gary and MudCat! You saved Gary's life. I remember well his story from last year. Now all we need is for your back to get "back" to normal. Get some good rest this weekend and try to move around a bit, too. Often that is the best remedy for backache.

I hope the lysine does it's thing and Attie keeps improving. I love that Gary has turned into such a cuddle kitty.

I hope your back is on the mend. Massage and an NSAID may help.

Thanks for all the well wishes and backache tips.

It seems heat is the best pain reliever! They say it doesn't work, but I think they are liars. A friend sent me lavender hotpacks for Christmas. I don't know if they are rice or buckwheat, but she put lavender buds in them so when you heat them in the microwave they give off a lavender scent too. They stay warm enough for about a half hour.

Well the dog training session is scheduled for tomorrow at 1pm. Paws crossed it goes well as it is the first time I've done a one-on-one with an owner. But, I think from a safety standpoint some things need to be reviewed before Buddy gets too much bigger.

Heat is what works for me too. Plus we have a vibrator under the mattress of our bed. Laying on the heating pad with that slight vibration, heaven. :-D Sleep guaranteed within 20 minutes.

Nice blues for Atlas! Maybe Atticus will get jealous and imitate him.
I hope both of you get some R&R today and feel better soon.

Loving the Attie improvement,
and doing a happy dance for Gary's transformation!

Now if we can just get your back on the mend...things will be wonderful! :-D

It is so wonderful to see Gary coming into his own. I remember the lodge, and all the efforts to keep him warm in winter, remember when you brought him in, when he got sick. And look where he is today. What a great story. You've done well with him.

Too cute on MudCat - I think she wanted to play too.

I am glad to read that Attie is better today. Good job Attie - keep those better days coming!

I hpoe you are feeling better too Beth. Those lavender hotpacks sound so great!

Thank you everyone sooooo much for your healing vines and good healthy wishes...

Attie is slowly on the rise so ...maybe this is a mini-bounce. We're up on the lysine dose so hopefully it works. He had a sneezing jag a bit ago, but his eyes are big green and bright. They got especially big when each kitter got a clam to deal with for an appetizer!

I was feeling well enough to make a run to the grocery. Coffee!!!! ~O) ~O) ~O) . 'Course if you go to the grocery on a Saturday you have to just shop. So a bag of potatos, onions, cabbage, lettuce, wine, a humble dozen of little neck clams, and fixin's for pasta and viola....linquini with clams for dinner. Heck it has been a long painful week...why not?
