One of these I think. Maybe the 'seafood feast' although it does not say 'pate' . Very low carb.

Evening Juliet.
Me and Phil know all about those emotions and feelings when your parent who is far away across the seas is ailing or in distress in some way. It's really horrible, let alone when your pusscat companion is also on a sharp end. So very very hard and worse than hard. It's not just hop a flight or make a drive is it . A whole lot more goes into it. We know this as we have been there.

Just like @Elizabeth B , I just so wish we were far closer so we could help with this & like you Elizabeth B we've had to cancel a rather special trip to be with people we love and care for as there is no-one to take care of Tyler. It really is between a rock and a hard place. Stinks!

@Juliet . Hope your mum continues to make progress .

Thanks. He gets the ocean whitefish and tuna; salmon and cod, sole and shrimp varieties. Neither of my cats like chicken or beef. Turn up their dainty noses and walk away.

It’s in my signature but I give him the seafood pate ones. They come in a multi pack. It’s all he will eat. I know it’s low carb as FF pate (Classics) in US is low carb and he’s been off all dry for ever.
Yes, you're good as far as low carb. Thanks @PussCatPrince for attaching the chart. I just wanted to make sure it was Classics and not Roasted as that would be a lot more carbs. The mistake has been made before to give any old Fancy Feast and not all FF are created equal in the carbs department.

So sorry to hear about your mom. Sending kindest thoughts.

That’s why I am struggling with the dose decision this week but I also know if he goes lower - even below 5 on the freestyle he is really higher than that on the accucheck. I tested my civvie and got 4.6 on the accucheck and that is the same as the last vet reading but I am thinking they use pet specific meters?

FWIW, working with an AT here (so "real" numbers), my vet told me 4-8 was the ideal range we were aiming for. When I started flipping out about hypos, he told me "well, down to 2 there's probably no real danger". Now, doesn't mean I became complacent, but it did stop me flipping out whenever I saw 3.6.

I changed from old AT to AT2 and there was a roughly 1mmol/l jump in numbers. (On Q's SS: "meter comparison hell" tab). Finally switched, but now of course Q's numbers in the SS look blue when before they would have been green. (And with a human meter they would be super green.)

So yeah, when you look at that, you wonder why we get our panties in a knot about 160 vs 150... or worse, 51 vs 50.

11 on the freestyle was 20.4 on the accucheck. 5.5 on freestyle was 10.4 accucheck. 9.3 on freestyle was 16.3 on accucheck.

Gosh, that is a HUGE difference, IMHO. Are these both supposed to be human meters? This is the kind of situation which would make me want to get a third player (meter) to the party ASAP. Nobody on the board living within driving distance who could come over and do a meter comparison session with you?

I can understand how that can make it very difficult to interpret the guidelines for dose adjustments.
